    1 1/2" green feeder tube

There are tons of worms that are similar to this. Even with pics it may not be possible to positively id it. If you can get clear pics you might try Dr. Ron's forum on RC. B

LR is getting a sort of white webbing on it....

cad, Try this article...There's a few pics...Is this what the webbing looked like? It's what I've got in my tank, and they're generally harmless. B http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-06/rs/

LR is getting a sort of white webbing on it....

I've never heard of a bristle worm that secretes webbing....Do you have a link to where you read about this? B

Should I go wireless? Computer guys, I need your help

Oh...Here's a quick overview of ABG.... http://tech2.nytimes.com/mem/technology ... A9629C8B63 There are relatively inexpensive tri-band wireless routers out. I'd go with one of those if possible. It just gives you a bit more flexibility/reliability. B

Should I go wireless? Computer guys, I need your help

All routers whether a b or g will come with software that allow you set passwords, so you can lock your neighbors out...Use it. I had a friend that got surveiled for 3wks before the FBI came knocking on his door with a search warrant for his computer. They didn't even take his computer, just...

    New to Coral Question

It's probably expelling....Mushrooms are related to anemones, and like anemones they've got to take in food and expel waste from the same place. B

LR is getting a sort of white webbing on it....

Probably different critters. The worms cich1 and I are talking about are more like small tube worms. What you found was probably a peanut worm. B

LR is getting a sort of white webbing on it....

I doesn't sound like algae to me. I haven't of any white algaes. If it's lots of little tendrils, then it's probably a type of worm...I can't remember what they're called right now, but they live in the rock and they're feeding tentacles are really long, some are white and in areas with a lot...

    New 2.5

It's not a good idea. If you buy the rock and have a half hour bus ride home, there's gonna be some die-off in the rock. You will have a small cycle from that when you add the rock to the tank. I'd add the rock, test your water in 3-4 days and if everything is clear then go get some coral...

    Attaching pics

http://www.nanotank.com/viewtopic.php?t=6 I personally use photobucket to host my pics, but there are others out there. You just have to make sure they allow remote linking. I've got an ofoto account...They don't allow remote linking so they're not useful for posting pics to web boards...

    new to nano

The only fish that I've had that didn't get along fine with clowns were other clowns, and damsels. As long as you don't try to keep different species of clowns, and/or and odd number of the same type of clown you should be able to pick from a ton of fish that will get along with a perc...

    Newbie...quick filter question

The intake tubes on my HOB filters really aren't adjustable. If you're talking about the surface skimmer attachment for an AC filter, you just move it so that the water surface isn't visible from the front of the tank. Usually this means the water level is just above the bracing that...

    Newbie...quick filter question

What filter media are you planning on using? The AC HOB filters are cool because you have a lot of flexibilty to use whatever type of filter media you'd like. My wife's running an AC500 with a bit of filter floss, and the main portion as a fuge. You could use the carbon filter floss...

Need your opinion on Bristle worms

Some people think they're great detrivores, and mostly harmless. I pretty much leave them alone unless they're particularly large, or slow/stupid enough that I can catch them easily. I think that once they get big some of them can be a danger to fish, and some corals. There's a very...

    Upgrading

I think that cich1 has a good point. Really you should set up all your rock in the beginning and let your tank cycle. As far as a store is concerned rock may be fully cycled, but they're not thinking from the standpoint of a nano tank. Even transporting a piece of rock from the LFS to your...

    Identify This Please?

The worm you've got is definitely a fireworm...It's just a type of bristleworm. Not inherently any worse for your tank than regular bristleworms, just a much more painful sting if you happen to brush up against it while cleaning or whatever. There is a long standing debate on whether...

    Pics of the New Tank

That's the problem with larger rocks. You simply don't really have as many choices when it comes to how they'll fit in the tank. I've got a huge chuck of tonga branch that takes up the center of my tank. I love the piece, but it can be frustrating at times to try to find places to put new...

    Happy 1 Yr Anniversary Nanotank!

Thanks Mike, but I've gotten just as much good advice as I've given out...You were just lucky and caught me at a time when I didn't have much going on at work, so I could answer most of your questions... B

my 60 gallon beware 56k users, big images .

Really beautiful tank. Nice shots of it as well. Try to keep your images at 600x450. This makes it easier for dial up folks to enjoy them, and it doesn't mess with the forum formatting so you have to scroll side to side to see the whole image, and then all the messages afterwords. B
