Brine Shrimp Direct A+ Recommend :)

Just to add my 2 cents...We ordered a ton of stuff for making borneman's mix/food. I didn't deal with them, my wife did, but everything showed up as it should have. I will definetely be ordering from them again. B

This is frigging bizarre...I can't believe a judge awarded this woman child support payments. B http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/nation/3056341

    mh question

There's a single 250w 10k MH retrofit kit on this page for $150, already all wired up...All you'll need to do is make a reflector and mount it. Not quite as cheap as the DIY you posted....but with a better bulb, and less work. http://www.firstclassaquatics.com/lights.htm B

    any Electricans

It is tempting...But I wouldn't do it unless it was for a frag tank. I don't like the 6500k bulbs. They're too yellow for me. At least for a display tank. I've wanted to try this since finding the thread a couple weeks after it started. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthr ...

Pico 1.5 future investment (pics inside)

Dragon, They sell plexi glass at home depot for about $4-$6 for a sheet that's probably 18"x24". It comes in 2-3 different thicknesses. All you need to do is lay the sheet over your tank, trace out the shape with a sharpie marker and then cut it out with dremel or small saw...For the really...

    snails

I wouldn't say they're better. They eat different algaes...So they're different not better or worse. I'd go with a mix. B

    Newbie...quick filter question

Mine does too. However, if your tank is deep enough, you can place the assembly far enough down that even floating it's below the brace, and your water level will then also be below the brace. B

funny thread on a .75 tank

I wonder how long it'll be before the flames start? On a funny side note...I just posted about getting flamed for asking a question about keeping clams early on....Well the question was about trying to keep them in one of these tanks, with a much more powerful PC lamp. :? B

    Additives? Some Ideas

I wouldn't make a habit of posting the same thread multiple times...You'd be surprised how irate and picky people on RC and nano-reef can be. I actually got flamed early on for asking a question about keeping clams and posting the same question to three different boards. I posted it on RC, and...

    Additives? Some Ideas

Is there some reason this is in two forums? I don't actually dose my 6g nano. However it does get some of what I dose the main reef system with through periodic water changes. I usually change about a gallon out a week, but it's usually with water from the LFS. About once a...

    six-line wrasse

I actually don't like stress coat. I used it once on the reccomendation from one of the LFSs that I don't normally trust, and it caused my skimmer to go crazy. Several of the corals, closed up for a couple days, my anemones scrunched up as well. I won't use it again. So far in my experience...

LR is getting a sort of white webbing on it....

Unless it gets really large it's unlikely to go after a sleeping fish as long as the fish is healthy. Many of them may not go after fish no matter how large they get. Think of them as tank vultures. Vultures eat dead animals, and if they're really hungry may attempt one that's very, very...

    Will these get too big?

Neither of these are good choices for a nano tank. Period. The size of the fish isn't really a factor here. Even as juveniles they need more room to swim than is available in anything less than a 55g. Hippo tangs can easily outgrow a 55g in time. B No angels, not even pygmys. No...

LR is getting a sort of white webbing on it....

Here's a pic of a bacterial mat in the wild....Looks similar. http://www-archbac.u-psud.fr/Projects/T ... Vent8.html I wouldn't worry about the bristle worm. Fireworms are rare in home aquariums, and the one you found seemed like a fairly regular sized specimen. Again, I would only worry...

    Nano Cube is overheating!!! HELP!!!

Actually that's about standard for most reef tanks. You should think about ambient temp though. I've read lots of threads about folks in places like San Francisco, and Chicago, that set their tanks up in the fall, and it was running at those temps, and everything was fine, but then when the...

    I hate aquascaping!

Let's see....I scaped most of the 75 by myself. Once my wife got home she helped me rearrange a couple pieces. This was the most challenging one for me because I had a bastardized closed loop, and a freestanding overflow that I wanted to try to disguise a bit. On the 40g cube octo tank, I...

You don't want to leave it in FW for long periods of time, but for short term dips, no it won't harm it. b

LR is getting a sort of white webbing on it....

I still haven't seen anything after skimming articles for the last hour or so that mentions bristleworms having anything to do with any type of webbing or net. Hopefully rbaby can find and post a link to the info. B
