check out the little clip of my cube

I actually think it's more a remote linking/loading problem. If you got directly to the site you can view it. It's very cool BTW. I've run into this with regular jpg files with tripod members before. B

    new critter

I'd keep an eye out for it, but until you can get a better look there isn't much you can really do. Many crabs have legs that look hairy, and they're totally reef safe. If the carapace, or body is hairy then it's probably an unwanted variety. B

    New to Coral Question

Most corals take a few days to adjust fully. Doing a proper drip-line acclimation/introduction to your tank will help cut down the amount of time they need to fully extend. Most of the corals are also diurnal and will contract during the night. However there are some that are nocturntal...

    Crabs

Yep...I got mine from fishsupply.com. It was a bimac, same as on octopets. Either the octopets guys supply them to fishsupply, or they're both ordering from the same supplier. www.tonmo.com is the best source of information on keeping cephalopods. My octo tank is right at the lower limit...

    40 watts of lighting

These are normally referred to as sebae anemones, and no it's pretty unlikely to survive in your tank period. Sebae anemones tend to be some of the hardest to keep alive in the aquarium. Experienced folks with large aquariums have a difficult time keeping them because they're delicate, and any...

    Crabs

Yep..we really enjoyed the last one. Just needed to get through the move and all the upgrades to make sure everything was stable before ordering a new one. B

    Crabs

Yep....no luck so far...We'll be ordering the new octo soon though, so eventually it'll end up as octo food if it doesn't go in the jar. B

    Crabs

It's certainly possible that you could get a good hitchhiker. A general rule for crabs is if their carapace appears hairy, or if their claws are black, then they're not something you want in your tank. Speaking of which, it appears I had more than one gorrilla crab in my tank. I found a...

Adding Fish/Coral to a new tank

Order of introduction can be a factor to keep in mind when introducing fish, but generally doesn't matter with most inverts and corals. Yep, I'd put the clean up crew in there as soon as the cyle seems complete. I'd probably put the clown in before the wrasse/goby, but it might not matter...

    40 watts of lighting

the watt-per-gallon rule is pretty much useless. YMCA is correct 40w over a 10 is enough to keep softies, and some LPS like frogspawn, hammer, candy cane. But it's not enough to do most of the popular anemones. However there are ones that you could try that don't need any light. They are...

    Any ALIAS fans??

Don't get me wrong. I still enjoy the show. Perhaps my expectations were just a bit high after all the hype. B

    Live Video JBJ 12 Cube...

Very sweet. I've been meaning to try and take some video of my tanks, but I've gotta get my brother to actually come over and bring his video camera. B

What other fish are compatible with a yellow tail damsel?

You might try a dottyback. They're also agressive, and it should be able to hold it's own against the damsel. FWIW, dottybacks, and damsels are across the board some of the most agressive reef-safe fish out there. You might have better luck if you can capture the damsel, keep it out for a...

Nice Monti. In the 5th pic it looks like one of the acros died, or is it just bleached out? B

    what can i add

If you find one and add it to the tank. Try turning off all the lights and the powerheads while it attaches to the area you'd like it to be in. After a couple hours turn things back on. It gives it a bit of time to acclimate to the water differences, and attach securely. My RBTA has...

    Chiller ???

Yep you'll have to have a powerhead to run the water through chiller and back to the tank. This one basically uses peltier cooling units just like the iceprobe chillers or this one, http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_chi ... sp?CartId= but probably more than one unit, and it has the...

    imsuperjp's 10 G

If you just have the stock 48w of lighting I wouldn't try it. They don't seem to be as light-needy as many other types of anemones, but it would be a pretty big risk. B

    nano pics update 1-12-05

Very nice....i'm having the same kind of issues trying to take pics of clown pair that I put in my nano. Everytime anyone walks by the tank they get all excited and start swimming around like crazy. Little beggars. B
