My 9 Gallon Stealth Cube Build

She's a beauty all right! How is the canister holding up? How to do clean the canister? Any check valves, or ball valves? I love it. Can you tell

    JBJ Nanocube DX

Well I got this setup up for a killer price - free. I am 99% positive that this is the 12 gallon model. I had to replace the pump (an equivalent to the maxi jet 600) and I'm sure the lights will need replacing (it has two power compacts, stock lighting I'm sure). But it has the surface...

    My 14g water box

Well I started off only wanting to do "non-chemical" solutions. But chemistry is a fact for our reef tanks. If it looks like aiptaisa, kill it. :D Just my 2 cents. I've heard a couple people talk about using lemon juice, but I haven't used it personally.

    24g d+d mods

Yup, pump upgrade. Maybe lighing. I personally use Seachem test kits, but the one comment I have about seachem test kits are the tiny little trays to do the kit. Not a lot of room for mistakes. I like them but that is one design flaw I think.

newbie here!.. wanted to know about 2.5 gallon tanks

Well any tank will work as long as you like it. I personally don't have a pico but I have seen hang on back filters to add mechanical and chemical filtration. The smaller the tank the cheaper the startup cost, but yes - more maintenance is needed the smaller the tank. I don't think that a...

    55 in progress

This weekend my to do list is: 1. 30% water change. 2. Build new 30 gallon sump/fuge. 3. Clean up the wiring on the new lighing (left them long just in case, now I can them up) 4. Adjust heating. 5. Switch from flexible tubing to PVC 6. Purchase new RO/DI container

    55 in progress

Well since all the old links are broken here are a couple photos of the new and improved 90 gallon. The 55 gallon is currently the sump, but I am changing it out for a 30 gallon that will actually fit into stand. FTS Left Center Right Frogspawns Bubblecorals...

    Red Algae

If it is algae then your tests will appear fine because the algae is using up the excess nutrients in your water column. If you are feeding try cutting down a bit, or increase water flow, or reduce lighting. But if it is coralline algae then that is a sign of a healthy tank.

    Lights on - BAD algae

Well here is a link to some common algae. You want coralline algae ( I would guess the pink stuff, can't tell without pics), macro algae (calpura or chaeto are common ones), umm and maybe a few more. Diatoms (probably the brown stuff in your tank) normally not good, green hair algae, red hair...

    startup schedule

Just to make sure I typed this out right. 1st Clean up crew (inverts, no fish) 2nd Coral 3rd Fish

    Population plan

Fair enough. You will need to make sure your levels stay ideal. With that much stony coral and clams your CA will need to be ideal.

    105 ltr tank fish question!!!

LOL in my tank the firefish are the bullies. That will change when the tang is introduced (I hope). I don't see anything blazingly odd about the list, but I am no expert.

    Cleanup crew

You may want to consider astrea snails instead of turbo only due to size. Other than that looks ok. I personally love hermits so I would add a couple (3-5) dwarf hermit crabs (blue leg, scarlet, or zebra).

    Population plan

Just make sure if it is aggressive you give the coral room (flower pot). That is a very detailed listing. I don't have experience with a lot of it but I don't see anything that would concern me. Just make sure you don't add the dragon goby the same time as the snails, crabs, and such. You may...

    startup schedule

Normally coral first only because of the bio load that each part of the tank adds. Clean up crew add little to no bio load. Corals generally add little or no bio load (but if you feed them the bio load is a bit higher). Fish on the other hand add quite a bit to the bio load so if you add them...

From what I have read no. I actually run chemi-pure and plan on keeping it running 24/7.
