Replacement water pump for a BC29

    55 in progress

Thanks! I really enjoyed your threads. I learned a lot from you. Here are some updated shots. I completed everything but #5 on my list. I just don't know about the bulkheads I have on my tank and what PVC piece to use to attach. I thought I knew but my test bulkhead did not thread onto...

can you use this type of light?

I read an article a while back about someone who did just that. For our nanos it's not too bad, but it's a pretty good DIY.

Just a tip with the hydrometer as it is probably is a swing arm. Tap the hydrometer to make sure there are no bubbles on it and I would take a sample of water to a LFS to check the same water to see how accurate you hydrometer is.

can you use this type of light?

Look into the PFO gallelio lights. Expensive, but VERY cool and great color/growth.

Blocking lower vents on AquaPod 12 gal

? dunno but I think from the front (easier to clean). Do you ever want to use them again? If not I would just putty and put a piece of acrylic (for looks) over it.

    cf lighting question

well the 50/50 is one half 10,000k and the other half actinic. If you can have 2 bulbs on and the other two off I think this bulb setup would work nicley. Bulb 1: 10,000k Bulb 2: Actinic Bulb 3: 10,000k Bulb 4: Actinic Turn on bulb 2 and 4 about half an hour earlier than the 10,000ks...

Pro's and Con's of different aquariums

For the anemone I think the sunpod would be the best choice. There are others with more personal experience with those systems on this site, just been a bit slow lately. :)

    HELP SETTING UP 20GAL LONG

I went for the gusto and got what I wanted. Not the safest way to get my feet wet, but everything thing lived thanks to a lot of help. Mushrooms, ricordias, zoas, bubble coral, frogspawn, hammer coral, xenia, star polyps, and quite a few other LPS do nicely. The frogspawn is actually my...

    would these be ok

Well for 6 gallons I really wouldn't do more than two fish. I personally would only do one, but 2 clown gobies may do ok. I vote for peppermint shrimp. (take a look at sexy shrimp, pretty cool  ) Everything else looks cool. I guess the sky is the limit for your feather dusters...

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3179/2387617913_6fe72b6d10.jpg?v=0 That is an example of a ac 110 refugium mod (fuge). No skimmer is NEEDED, but you will need to do weekly water changes (10)% What you want to keep dictates what you need. So if you post what you want to keep then we...

Pro's and Con's of different aquariums

If you want 3 or 4 fish then the larger systems are almost a must have. My friend has the 29 gallon bio cube and he has no complaints. He has sun daisies, frogspawn, chili coral, pulsing xenia, finger leather?, and another polyp I think a leather. Stock everything and he is very happy. He has...

    starting off with cured rock

With a similar setup I had a cycle complete in a matter of days (about 4) but I still let it be for a week after that. You just need the bacteria count to even out for your tank and bio load.

    12 gallon stocking questions

I've not had a wrasse in a nano, but the clown gobies are awesome! Very entertaining. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod ... pcatid=159 I think the wrasse would bully the fire fish. But the firefish and goby should be ok together and they should occupy different sections of the tank.

Not the slightest buckle. There three upright sections and all three are held together by a single bar in the back. heck I stood on it and ... not jumped, but bounced my weight up and down and not even a squeak. Yes the ATO makes sense. I figured I needed to use airline tubing.
