    Current or Coralife?

Yeah I'm currently using a coralife fixture now, and don't have any problems with it, but i know other people that swear by current usa and won't touch a coralife fixture... Just wondering if anyone had an opinion on whether one was better than the other or not in terms of...

    Feedings

I would also say more often, but less food per feeding. Basically so you're feeding the same overall amount each week, but stretched over 3-4 feedings...

    Current or Coralife?

All things being equal (same wattage, types of lamps, price, etc.), which is the better brand to go with for a lighting setup?

    Canister or Powerfilter?

so in a 29 wit ha skimmer and powerfilter, would you still recommend a PH? the only advantage that i can see of adding a PH would be to direct the waterflow towards the bottom of the tank, but don't most shrooms and corals that tend to be near the bottom of the tank prefer a slightly lower...

    Enough for a 29 gal?

one last question (hopefully)... the light fixture i was looking at getting is 15" front to back - the tank i want is only 12" deep - all the lights look like they only take up about 13", but if the lights do happen to overlap the tank slightly, will that reduce some of the light getting into...

    Canister or Powerfilter?

Yeah - that's what i was thinking - the ACs allow you to change media too - i was most likely going to run it with just filter pads primarily for flow and to remove particles - i can also add phosban and carbon when i need it... Just wondering if there was any real redeeming features of a...

    Canister or Powerfilter?

I'm still planning out my future 29g tank, and decided i want more filtration than just a skimmer... So i was debating between a fluval canister, or an Aquaclear powerfilter. I think i might go with the powerfilter since it has a wider flow area, and fewer potential problems. I've heard...

    Enough for a 29 gal?

Well, after all this, i'm not sure we really answered my original question  Which do you think would be better for the tank: 1 250w DE pendant (14k, or 20k - not sure yet) or 1 150w DE with 2x65w PC actinics I'm leaning towards the 150w with PCs, because then i can get the...

    Bubbling skimmers

Yeah - if i were to ever get a nano-cube i'd add that "skimmer" mod, and upgrade the lights right off the bat - but i just bought a regular tank, that way i can add whatever equiptment i want, as long as i can cram it in/on the tank... :D

    Bubbling skimmers

There's a mod you can get on the nanocustoms site that allows the regular filter to more effectively skim the water off the top of the tank. While it's not really a true skimmer, it will help get the waste off the top of the water (where most of the junk in a tank ends up). Not sure how easy...

    SE and DE

I've heard the DE's are slightly more efficient, but like incysor said, you have to put a piece of UV protective glass (can get at frame shops) between the bulb and the tank, or you'll literally sunburn your corals (and possibly hurt your eyes). Most DE pendants and hoods already come with a...

    Fish for a 29g

I've seen a few of them at the LFSs areound here, and for the most part they are the brighter rusty color with the nice bright blue around the fins - I can even ask the owner of one of the LFSs to get me a good one when he goes to the wholesalers (He goes once a week to LA to handpick everything...

    Fish for a 29g

That is a really nice angel - i don't think i've ever seen one out here though :( The one i'm primarily considering is this one - i've seen small (under 2") one pretty regularly out here. http://www.saltwaterfish.com/site_11_03 ... 2dbed9bc04 http://www.marinedepotlive.com/325174.html...

    Fish for a 29g

I haven't seen the assessors at all around here, but the owner of the LFS i usually go to can probably get me one if i wanted him to. I looked them up online, so at least i know what the look like. I'm not a huge fan of cardinals - i don't really know why, but i just don't like the shapes...

    Enough for a 29 gal?

Yeah, i was originally thinking of just bolting the pendant right to the shelf, but after i thought about it for a minute, i decided that probably wasn't the best idea. I'm most likely going to hang it a few inches below the shelf to get airflow and so as not to catch the shelf on fire.

    5 gal invert

I agree - you either need to rinse the sponge really well every week, or what i do is just buy one of those big sheets of "cut-your-own" filter media and just throw it away every week and replace it. For an AC mini, you can get a few weeks worth of filters out of one $5 or so package

    Fish for a 29g

Yeah, mine does bury itself in the sand just after lights out.. it's not much to look at though - he just darts behind a rock and all you see is a little puff of sand... He'll also do it if he gets scared enough (like the time i tried to catch him) That's exactly why i'm asking this - I have...
