I had no problem keeping my crocea under PC's. I had one for just over a year. I had it high up just under the lights and it seemed to do really well. I decided to try it after Sergio said it should be fine. Everyone I asked on RC, or on clamsdirect.com's forums pretty much all said MH were...

    Updated Pics - Perfecting Macro...

I don't know if you guys have seen this, but since you're talking about elegance corals and the LFS is evidently still telling you that they're easy to keep I thought you might want to check it out. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthrea ... did=310425

    global

John and Sergio at Global know their stuff. They are 2 of the 4-5 people that I trust from the LFS's in Houston to ask advice from. As for the person on Marsh that was particularly critical of them, well appeared to be trolling. He kept making very critical posts about Global without actually...

Phischy's Project PtIII: Actually have corals!

Some peps will eat aipasia, but not all of them will, it seems to be a somewhat hit-or-miss thing. I've heard of a few people having them go after yellow polyps, or star polyps, but I've never heard of them going after zoos. B

    Updated Pics - Perfecting Macro...

The elegance still looks pretty close to the frogspawn. Could it still be getting stung? It could be starting to go, via the disease that Eric Borneman is trying to study as well. Good luck man. All your pics look great BTW. B

Re: sweet I'm feeding the harlequin about one starfish a month-3wks at this point. I started off with a pair of them, and was feeding them every couple weeks, but one disappeared, and I moved this one into the smaller work tank, so I cut back. So far so good. I don't really think of them...

    Dual 10G Back-to-Back Acrylic Tanks

A 1" bulkhead will normally allow approx 600gph to flow through it with no problems. So you can have a return pump that will pump up to that ammount with little or no issues. On a 10g tank, it would be easy to get a 600-700gph pump in your sump, split the return line with a SCWD, and just run...

    Never noticed these

who can identify this??? Plz read

The first site I looked at for peanut worms says they get up to 65mm. That's about 2.5 inches. Second one said 2-3 inches for full grown ones. I think they got it right, and that's probably what he has. B

What's the better buy in moonlights?

Sweet. That looks really good, and it's easy. It still doesn't have lot of flexibility, but the ease of installation kinda balances that out. I don't have my moonlights on yet. The club did a DIY moonlight meeting, and I got my kits, but I didn't have my canopies ready yet, so I still...

    hi new here....

www.marinedepotlive.com www.liveaquaria.com www.fishsupply.com These sites are the first places I generally look for a decent idea on what a fish's requirements are. Most of their info is good. Not all of it by any means. If you're borderline on what they say, do some more in-depth...

    new member here

As far as star polyps go. They're supposed to be one of the easiest things around. I tried them a few times when I had the system set up with the 55g under the pc lights and never had any luck. I decided to try a couple more frags now that I've got the better lights, and so far so good. This...

Cheap sumps & Negative health effects?

I think the general consensus is that they won't leach anything into your water. I've seen many sumps made from rubbermaid-type containers, and I've never seen any negative reports, other than some of the cheaper tubs will get brittle over time. I use a normal plastic kitchen trash can for my...

    Dual 10G Back-to-Back Acrylic Tanks

You should never, never, never try to use two pumps moving against each other to move water. One of them will always become, clogged, break an impeller, burn out it's motor, etc... and the other one will be able to continue pumping normally and flood the other area. The easiest thing for you...

What's the better buy in moonlights?

I don't know about your LFS situation, but several of the stores here carry both the 3/4w, and 1w lights. If one of your LFS carries them and you can go in during a slow period maybe they'd put a one of each on a small tank so you could see what you'd prefer. I think either one would...

    Open Green Brains

Interesting. I don't actually know how they reproduce. My red brain tends to puff itself up quite a bit after eating, but I've never seen it actually moving. B
