Just call around to the pet stores. They're more likely to have it than a walmart or chain pet store. If you don't have any luck there, you might try nurseries that have pond supplies as well. B

I'd go get a micron sock and stick it over the return. It'll probably cost somewhere between $5-$10. Like I said if the water clears up, then you probably need to spend some money on more rock which will help break up the flow from the PH, if it's kicking the substrate up. Or you can DIY some...

Sorry about the loss, but these aren't reef safe stars in the first place. They're known coral eaters just like chocolate chip stars...Any of the ones with the large bumps or protrusions aren't a safe bet with your coral. Even a lot of the reef-safe stars aren't going to fare well in a nano...

Yep this happens when you add too much calcium. The water can't absorb anymore so it starts to precipitate out....You have to add a LOT of calcium though. B

I was going to mention Mike using this, but then he'd have to go out and buy a new filter which can be kind of expensive. If figured trying the cheap solutions first would be better...He'd probably be better off spending the money on more liverock to break up the flow patterns than a filter...

LFS....I haven't ever had a problem finding them...You won't find them at a petco, or petsmart, but most of the decent ones will carry them. They look like this....Some come with a plastic ring, some with a tie string...You want the string kind...But you'll still probalby have to use a rubber...

Normal water change is 10-15%. So 2.5g-4g I usually try to do about 20% which would be 5g. You have one of two problems. 1. The particulate matter is smaller than your filtration can stop. or 2. The PH/return pump is too powerful for your system the way it's currently...

Well you shouldn't be adding marine buffer directly anyway. You should disolve anything additive in a cup of tank water then pour that in. Or you can disolve it into your top off water. However it should have disolved by now. B

Lots of people seem to be able to keep them just fine...I would try the normal things...If it's in a bright spot, move it to a shadier area. If it's in a shady spot move it into a brighter area. Just cause it didn't work for me, doesn't mean it won't work for you. B
