    Jesse's 12g AP w/70 watt Sunpod

Sigh. I think I am going to have to upgrade the lighting in my tank even just for the ricordias. They are doing fine, but I'm losing color. Looks like the 70 MH for me soon.

    2.42g DIY Rimless Pico

Nice! I always wanted to try this but I'm so worried that the water pressure will cause the glass to blow out.

Hi ph???? What to do when u have high ph and coral?

Well RO/DI water has a PH of 7.0 when properly aerated (power head running for a bit). So using tap water sets the stage for a whole host of potential problems from PH, algae, and introduction of toxic heavy metals. My first thought would be to stop using tap water. RO/DI is best IMO, but RO...

    Newbie needs some help

Let the tank be for a bit. If they don't eat then it should die out assuming you don't over feed and keep up on water changes. Time and patience is key at this point.

    NEW SALTY NANO NEED SUGGESTIONS

So you have 6 lbs of LR? I would up that to about 12-15 lbs. That is your main source of filtration, well that and you LS. Just a personal opinion.

    New to Nanotank forum

There was a site link somewhere here with a setup that had T5 lighting (which if it has individual reflectors is almost as good as, if not better, than MH). Let me look and see if I can find it.

    help!!!!

I only used lights for a couple of days to monitor my temperature to see if I needed any extra cooling or not. You don't need lights and that will help keep algae down (you will still get some, it gets ugly before it's pretty). For the cycle you are waiting for ammonia to spike then go to...

    New to pulse corals, question.

Yep. If after a couple days you still haven't seen them open up I personally would try adjust flow or moving to different spot. Xenia is pretty tough stuff though.

    FISH PSYCHOLOGIST NEEDED

Ten gallons is a bit small for any pair of clown IMO. I have two fake ocellarus tank bred (more resistant to disease and some of the most peaceful and hardiest clown fish out there - or so I've been told). Any bottom dwelling fish should do ok as the clowns are mid to high swimmers. Firefish...

EMERGENCY INSTRUCTIONS NEEDED FOR AN EVACUATION FROM GUSTOV

You're welcome and good luck. I hope others have some input to add. Honestly if you can pick up a generator that would be best. But then again having Gustov leave would be best.

I would wait until the cycle is complete. They are pretty sensitive actually.

    NEW SALTY NANO NEED SUGGESTIONS

Sounds good. I've never had an elegance coral though. I personally would take the rock from the local and just do a freshwater dip. Take RO/DI water and junk dunk and swish all the rock for a bit and most bad stuff will die by hydroscopic (or hyper, always get those wrong) water pressure...

EMERGENCY INSTRUCTIONS NEEDED FOR AN EVACUATION FROM GUSTOV

:( three days in a SW tank is really really tough... Get tons of batteries for the air stone. Some will last a couple hours on a single battery. Best thing is to time it. Put in a fresh battery and stick it in a glass of water and write down what time it stops working.

    Newbie needs some help

Well honestly just let the tank run it's course a bit. It will be ugly before it gets better. Seemingly on it's own. I like the tonga nassarius snails. They are big and one or two will keep the sand stirred nicely. I don't like astrea snails anymore becuase they ALWAYS fall over and never...

    NEW SALTY NANO NEED SUGGESTIONS

I would just take out the biowheel and that should be fine, just make sure the carbon inserts don't get too much junk on them and keep it clean. Sorry macro algae, a beneficial larger algae. Like (forgive my slaughtering of the spelling) chaetomorphea or calpera. I prefer chaetomorphea...

Very nice! Thanks for posting the pictures. Did you do anything special to remove the algae? (someone could learn from your experience ;-) )

EMERGENCY INSTRUCTIONS NEEDED FOR AN EVACUATION FROM GUSTOV

Wow. Battery operated air stones work nicely and won't break the bank but those are a very temporary solution. Back up batter only will get you so far as that sounds like you may be out of power for days at a time. Unfortunately the only solution that keeps you BC29 where it is sounds like a...
