Well RO/DI water has a PH of 7.0 when properly aerated (power head running for a bit). So using tap water sets the stage for a whole host of potential problems from PH, algae, and introduction of toxic heavy metals. My first thought would be to stop using tap water. RO/DI is best IMO, but RO...

Let the tank be for a bit. If they don't eat then it should die out assuming you don't over feed and keep up on water changes. Time and patience is key at this point.

So you have 6 lbs of LR? I would up that to about 12-15 lbs. That is your main source of filtration, well that and you LS. Just a personal opinion.

Yep. If after a couple days you still haven't seen them open up I personally would try adjust flow or moving to different spot. Xenia is pretty tough stuff though.

Ten gallons is a bit small for any pair of clown IMO. I have two fake ocellarus tank bred (more resistant to disease and some of the most peaceful and hardiest clown fish out there - or so I've been told). Any bottom dwelling fish should do ok as the clowns are mid to high swimmers. Firefish...

Sounds good. I've never had an elegance coral though. I personally would take the rock from the local and just do a freshwater dip. Take RO/DI water and junk dunk and swish all the rock for a bit and most bad stuff will die by hydroscopic (or hyper, always get those wrong) water pressure...

:( three days in a SW tank is really really tough... Get tons of batteries for the air stone. Some will last a couple hours on a single battery. Best thing is to time it. Put in a fresh battery and stick it in a glass of water and write down what time it stops working.
