definitly not a true hobbiest, most of all respect for environment. it sadins me when i see this kind of thing happening at my LFS's and with someones personal tanks.

i have also had this happen. one of my shrooms fell behind my LR and i couldnt move the rock without moving everything. when i broke down my tank to my surprise it was still there. it was white but alive, its been a month and it finally got its color back.

if you have a sump/fuge you main tank water level doesnt drop. i have my system set-up so when i do a water change, my overflow dumps old water into an empty bucket as the fresh saltwater is pumped into the sump. works awsome, takes me about two seconds to do a five gallon water change.

if you dont want to expose your corals to air, then do one gallon change at a time.

i dont see why it wouldnt work.....keep us updated. how about osme pics?
