those purple zoa's are amazing JD. i just picked acouple poylps up last night, hopefully they'll be open night.

it drives me nuts seeing my tank lookin liike this but at least i have my pico to keep me occupied. actually im in hte process of building another pico, alittle bigger (instead of 8x8, its going ot be 8tallx12widex12deep), and a built-in filteration(overflow, heater, fuge). will have pics tonight.

with that statement JD.... you think i should let the hair algae grow instead of cleaing it. letting it grow would lower teh nutrient build up in hte rock, and then let the sea hare go to town. makes sense to me.

if the sea hare doesnt work, ill definitly try a lawnmower blennie. i tried a yellow tank when i had this problem in my 20L. didnt like the hair algea. i have heard really good things about the sea hares takin care of hair algea. only time will tell. will definitly keep everyone updated.

the salt is what carries the elements. as for your temp in the tank, alittle temp fluxuation is ok but if it gets to drastic thats when youll have problems. whats your temp at with lights on, and wehn lights off?

i have zebras and bluelegs and they have been doing a great job.....as long as they are small. the bigger they get the more lazy they get.

i thought about it but there is still some stuff pokin out of the rocks. my LFS is going to be getting acouple small sea hairs this week so when they do it will be my last line of defense. if that dont work then ill nuke it.

i second JD's post....i have also done it that way.

TONY are you doing regular water chnages? if so you really shouldnt need to dose any of those. i do weekly water changes and test before and after the change. i have never needed to supplimnet anything. the water change replenishs all elements. HTH.

well heres a updated pic of my ten. slowly but surely, still fighting the hair algae. 10 gallon water changes, 30 tiny bluelegs, an assortment of snails and alittle elbow grease will hopefully take care of the problem..... progress pic of my fuge.....

the way algae is growing in ym tank, i need another one growing in my fuge to make up for the slack.

the lightin should be fine for what you need.......

ill be able to grow the s*** out of it when i get it. for some reason i have a super fuge and the algae grows crazy. i have been selling my chaeto back to the LFS. ill be the east coast distributer....lmao
