jake, im sorry but i have never heard of anything that you descibed. if it is a parasite i would remove the shell and remains. the longer it is in your tank the more likely it will spread. im not really sure what to use to kill parasites in a reef tank. ill do some research and see what i can...

welcome to nanotank persoanlly i would scratch the filter and PH. most of my tanks have been ten galloners. you might want to consider getting an HOB filter, maybe one that has a protein skimmer built-in. CPR makes a great product. only having LR as your filter is workable in a ten as long as...

the two that i bought in the past , at the LFS they pulled them out of the display tank and left the tube. like MIKE said they will make a new tube in a couple weeks. one way to check if they are still alive is to just nudge them with the end of a net to see if it moves. HTH

the bulb is a 70w 14k, the pic was taken with 9w of actinic. i like the way the colors look with the actinic. the cubes made out of acrylic plexi from home depot....the thicker stuff.

i had alittle diatom in my ten after the crash. i bought some nerite snails and over night they did the trick. nerite snails 5, diatoms and hair algae 0. :mrgreen:

thats crazy ED, sorry to here your having problems. i couldnt begin to imagine why your having this problem, sorry im not any help.

6 nerite snails, 4 peppermint shrimp, 2 blue ricordea shroom, 1 rock w/ orange zoanthids and 4 cups of gracilaria algae. all showed up in excellent condition, zoa's are already open. another outstanding order.
