sounds like diatoms modify your light schedule(since you have nothing in the tank that needs lights you dont even need to run them much more than to peek in JMHO) and increase your flow they should start going away in a couple of weeks .. adding a crew before it is cycled may kill them as they...

Yep thats aiptasia nuke it , you could also use boiling lemmon juce injected into it or boiling water . And it wont damage the tank or the inhibitants .This can be used if you cant find joes juice near you like we couldnt HTH :-)

I would recommend a few 3-4 nasserious (SP) snails 1 turbo 2- 3 hermits blue leg (there is some debate here as the crabs can and will kill off the snails for the shell provide a few empty shells to help with that) 1or 2 turbo snails and maybe a cleaner shrimp in our 2.5 the one that has...

try feeding Monday Wednesday Friday with pellets or flake and cyclop-eeze on Sunday before a water change and see if your nitrAtes fall it may take a bit of time to see results but be patient you will :mrgreen:

You still may want to get a HOB filter to help remove the addtional particals.......Tho I am not really sure as to why your salt spg changed , what are you useing to measure spg ?Make sure to clean the hydrometer in vineagar and rinse well let dry I tried to do it after every use when I had one...

The way we do it is mix the water for 24 hours with power heads then add the salt mix an addtional 24 hours and bottle it , when I go to use it drop a power head in mix for 2 hours before use ..... Jsholar you may look into an RO/DI for your water it will give you better quality than tap water...
