I would say stick with the 30 gallon and upgrade lights if you think the tank is still to big.....I would recommend a 10 ~15 gallon with pc lighting 96 watts or greater ..
Alot of folks here have the nano cubes by jbj and like them others have had...
not sure why ...... how old are the posts you are looking at ?
had you seen them once and now cant see them again?
if they are old people may have removed them from their panel to open more space ....... :mrgreen:

Mike thanks for the input on my trates I thought that since I had corals that it needed to be as low as possible but I dont believe that I have any intrest in sps corals just yet since I am so new and I dont think that I have the right conditions plus they are a bit harder to keep than zoas lps...

it is a temp light for now I am looking at a few other options it is the odyssea pc lighting ........
I hope to get some pictures up soon on the unit I pretty much mirrored the 1st 2.5 that I didi ..........
Mr . Fugu is much calmer now and starting to show some new fin growth already...

the new light and heater came yesterday and I cut an egg crate top to finish it off. I also did water testing and every thing came back good

I just put mine on for the night , and in the am turn on the regular lights IMO they dont really need a timer but you can set it to turn on after your lights go out for the day :mrgreen:
same here run the carbon 24/7 tho mine is a hob ....I rinse in tank water weekly to clean it change it out monthly and also run chemi-pure as well :mrgreen:
