Any One use or recommend this skimmer?

There is a couple threads about it on nano-reef.com and people seem to like them. I would run one if I had a nanocube. seems to be good contruction. Jesse

A refugium is always a great thing to have especially with a nice amount of macroalgae such as Chaetomorpha, but you dont NEED it. You would want another powerhead or two... maybe even just one Tunze Nano Stream 6025. I have seen those in a 24g biocube and they are perfect for SPS nano's. Jesse

    Wave Controllers?

I dont have experience with wavemakers, but let me just remind you to make sure you buy powerheads that cna be powered by a controller. Some dont work with controllers and wont come back on right away when turned off. Jesse

The sunpod is a good product from Current USA. The 150 watter would probably work for some SPS. The fixture doesnt come with the pc actinics. A couple other things to consider for long-term success with SPS is that they have very different needs from LPS and sofites. Corallimorphs should...

    clown & hosting

Great link... I wouldnt suggest trying to keep an anemone in a nano tank. They will host all sorts of things in the tank and DO NOT need an anemone to host. Jesse

    2 problems that need fixing

I havent heard that before. BUT... if you are feeding a phyto that isnt a refrigerated brand such as DT's (refrigerated meaning it is alive), then you may see an INCREASE in hair algae. Products such as Kents Phyto are dead and of basically no use to your tank besides possible raising...

    Reefermikes 72 Gallon Bowfront - Nov 5/06

If you dont already have a skimmer, take a look at the ASM skimmer line. YOu get a skimmer that is just as effective as the crazy-priced Deltec or Euro-Reefs but for a lot less $$$. A LFS in my area just bought out the old fish store and revamped the WHOLE thing... they went with ASM G3's on...

    Sapphire Aquatics skimmer review....

If I had a nc, I would probably be running it. One thing to consider though is your bioload and whether or not you would truly benefit from a skimmer. In a small tank such as a nanocube, weekly 25-30% water changes can do just about the same thing. Unless you have a high bioload, you probably...

    Pic's from Pirate's Reef

Good point with the T5's Gary. If the tank is about 12" or so deep or more, it would be wise to go with T5's that have individual reflectors... but seems how your tank is only 9" deep you can get away with the single parabolic reflector. Great tank. Jesse

    TONG'S (BIG SALE)

I love Tong's, but my only problem with them and their "big sales" is that after that discount you are still paying regular retail price because their "regular" prices are soooooo high. 30% off the livestock isnt bad at all though... i just may take advantage of that! Maybe I'll see you...

    Yellow Watchman

Im trying to stay with the goby and clown. They hang out together out in the open water and I dont want to disturb that behavior. We'll see though... they are really cool looking! Jesse btw, the substrate should be fine then... it just looked larger to me.

I believe they *may* pair up with a pistol shrimp. The pistols can be pesky in a 12g though... they LOVE to throw sand everywhere. Jesse
