Just wanted to update you all on some new additions/equipment.

Here are a few new frags that I got from Edgray a week or so ago.

(A close-up of the new blues from Ed…)

Two new frags from JohnandDawn… one of them is Eddie’s and they have since both opened fully.

I also got some new LR from Ed, so I reaquascaped. The new rock is quite white so it sticks out like a sore thumb, but overall I am happy with the new arrangement. Eventually I want the branch LR to be covered in various zoas.

The other new addition is my new 150 watt HQI Hamilton ReefStar with a 14,000k lamp. I am pretty pleased with this fixture. You can tell by the FTS shot that it is pretty intense, and that is with the fixture hung 10â€

glad the pallies made it and are opening for you - looks like that one fell off the rock though - thats a bummer - but i guess now its easier to glue it onto your tonga branch cluster....... you know what you need now...i've got some monti frags an orange cap and my yellow confusa (my avitar) they would love that new light! :) hmmmmmmm maybe a swap for some blue zoas :)

Hey John, want an orange monti frag? I have the frag and the mother that I dont really want any more.

Let me know.

Also, thanks for the compliments everyone!

Eddie, I went with the 14,000k because it is a great bulb and wanted to see how it looked. Plus, I only had the choice of the 10,000k and 14,000k at Jeff's. I am looking into the 20,000k Radium though, just have to find a used one or trade for the bulb I have now because the Radium is minimum of $100.

LOL no thanks jesse i love orange digis but i already have 2 distinctly different ones of my own - colonies and frags! i love them but don't need more....... once that orange deepens on yours with the new light you may come to like them more too>>>>
i think both you and your corals will be happier with the 14K - 20K 150's just don't have the PAR - most people running the 20K have 250 - 400W this gives you the asthetic view of blue without losing too much in PAR for your corals. a 150 20K is very "dim" and i would only choose a 20K 150W if i were going stand alone on a small tank like what ed is looking at otherwise i would go lower K or higher W. the only cool ones I got are the Tiger eyes zoos, and some other ones that are diff colors and what not. You can see that from my old pictures, nothing really has changed since.

Another update:

I didnt realize how much my maxima has grown in the 8 weeks or so that I've had him until I returned to the LFS that I purchased him from and saw the babies that had just come in. He has grown at least 1/2" in length! With the new lighting, He seems to be opening more...

My ric is also beginning to look a little better too. Not quite where I would like it to be though. It seems to like a mix of mysis and cyclops...

I also realized that I have NEVER posted a picture of my YWG, so here goes...

He has a favorite spot... he hovers above my GSP and darts back and forth behind the branch LR where you see him in the picture. He pigs out on cyclops and mysis, as well as flakes occasionally although he usually just passses those through his gills. He like to sift the sand as well for microcrustaceans i guess.

Your tank looks great (as usual!) Jesse! I really like the YWG, I'm sure they just stand out with their vivid coloring.

Keep the pictures coming

Jesse,

What I most love about your tank is your selection of grade A quality corals and critters; then the husbandry that you place on them turns them to gold....

Keep up the great job...

Thank you all for the wonderful compliments!

Here are just a couple more shots...

And my avatar is the most recent clam shot that I have.

I also arranged a trade with a fellow member on another site for my 14,000k Hamilton lamp for his 20,000k Hamilton. Im looking forward to the new lamp!

Jennie... the pi of the blues in the post from the 21st are a brown frag that i got from eddie. They have since developed into the blue that you see. The true blues are these...

They are even a little brighter now... Ill post a new pic soon.

The third frag of blues (the ones i got from you) are still very bleached for some unknown reason.
