Tim, reefgeek is awesome! Great customer service and the best prices. I just picked up my AC Jr from them today. I got it all set up and programmed and I dont know how I ever had a tank without it! It is amazing. I am able to control the MH, both of the moonlights, both of the pumps, the heater, and the cooling fan and I still have an open socket. I have my ATO plugged directly into the wall.

Sigh. I think I am going to have to upgrade the lighting in my tank even just for the ricordias. They are doing fine, but I'm losing color. Looks like the 70 MH for me soon.

Haha yeah I love the MH... the 16.5" sunpods are awesome if you can get your hands on one.

Eddy came by and checked out my tank today. He let me borrow his Nikon D70 with Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 lense. These things are tricky to figure out but I did manage a couple decent shots. Here is one I took after lights out. I was finally able to capture the colors of my acan under the blue moonlights...

Very nice! That is some amazing coloration. I would love to go topless LOL but with my fish and son that isn't going to happen. Blue spot jaw fish are notorious carpet surfers. And my son would love to "pet" him I'm sure. Maybe in a couple of years. Nope, I'm going to have to retro fit and re ventilate I'm sure.

Oops yeah I forgot about the fish. The 70 watt retro is definitely doable. I love the look of MH personally.

Both of the acans I have just glow like crazy under the blue LED's... capturing it on a camera is the tough part

I agree, trying to capture the picture on camera is a real challenge. I do play around with the White Balance and usually find the correct combination.

LOL. Yep, I am thinking of taking a local community college course on photography to improve my nonexistent skills.

LOL... hardly! You just have to figure out your camera. If your camera has a manual WB control, you just have to get something white like the lid of a jar, put it in your tank under your light and adjust accordingly. Make sure if your camera has a macro setting that you are using it. Clean your glass inside and out. Take your shots straight-on with the glass. Try to turn your pumps off whenever possible for closeups. Tripods and using the countdown timer or remote shutter helps to reduce vibrations that blur photos. That's about it. Trust me, i take my pics in bursts of 4 or 5 at like 2 or 3 fps. I end up throwing out as many as 10 or more photos for every one that I like. And of those I only post a handful.

Thanks for the kind words though!

Hey Jesse,

Long time my friend. Glad to see you are still actively in the scene and producing very nice photos of your tank.

I just went through all the pages, and had to log in real quick and pay you a compliment.

Take it easy buddy.

Sure let me know what price they quote you. There are 14 people that are interested over on n-r.com so maybe we can order more and get a discounted price. DO you have a link to the place you contacted?

I contacted [email protected] ( http://www.viclite.com ) and they referred me to their US supplier [email protected]. Just sent the email to epicfish this morning. Viclite.com has 365 US dollars for 10 bulbs. I don't mind fronting that money and then sending out the bulbs...but I do mind people saying they want one and then at the last minute changing their mind. :pom

epicfish is the guy that was putting together the GB over on nano-reef that I havent heard from in over a month. So that is $36.50 a lamp... he said that they would be $47.50 shipped. So does it cost him $11 to ship each lamp??

I understand your concern about people backing out but trust me you will sell these lamps. There is so much interest in them because they are considered to be the best 70 watter out there and they are so hard to get. If you here back from epicfish let me know. I may take two at that price and help sell the rest.

Ok. I haven't heard from this person yet either and I am frustrated. Just goes to show our expectation since the introduction of email to our lives.

I just emailed them again, if I don't hear from this epicfish guy by this weekend I'm just going to buy directly from them in a lot of 10.
