As a few of you have noticed, I haven't been around like I used to be. It has been a very busy time for work plus a few family issues! But, one of the things I have been working on is getting ready for foal season. Finally got the cam up, had the first mare in and was watching her........eat...

Try feeding them a tiny piece of meaty food and see if they accept it :mrgreen:

If you are using a fine grade sand then you are probably seeing a 'settlement' from the sand being kicked up into the water column by the flow. If not then you are probably seeing the beginning of some dieoff from the liverock which is normal as well with your tank beginning its cycle. BTW...

Seabass has the most logical solution. It will not restrict your airflow and will be sturdy enough not to give in (assuming you do not have cats that are 'hefty' as mine are) BTW :welcome to the board Seabass! HTH :mrgreen:

You can top off with Saltwater or even skip a topoff all together which will raise the salinitiy. HTH
