Here we go again.....

As a few of you have noticed, I haven't been around like I used to be. It has been a very busy time for work plus a few family issues! But, one of the things I have been working on is getting ready for foal season. Finally got the cam up, had the first mare in and was watching her........eat. Seeing as we have 6 mares due within a close timeframe we had to do a quick switch because KT (Spoiled Show horse) looked like she might just foal first.

Ok, let me inturpt myself here ..... ;-)

During lunch Friday we were out checking the mares while they were turned out for exercise. Sure enough we decided that KT needed to go under the cam. Her last foaling she got sneaky on us, gave us no warning, was turned out for exercise, found a corner and FOALED! Talk about shock! Anyway, I had just made a sandwich and grabbed a soda and headed out to check the mares. KT is...well spoiled ;) . Just a word of caution, if you want to keep your lunch for yourself, do not 'talk with your hands' around a sneaky mare! Needless to say, she nabbed the rest of my lunch. She also happens to be a mare *Whispers* likes to drink soda. This picture was taken when she was trying to convince me that she needed some of my drink to wash her unexpected lunch down.

Ok, back to my story/news :)

After lunch, Margaret switch Snappy (Orignal mare on cam) with KT due to the hunch that she would foal first. I had already headed back to the office and. While I was working I had the cam up in the background and would switch over every few minutes to check on her. Sure enough she headed for the corner that the cam doesn't quiet catch. There I was thinking to myself, I need to call her and get her to block that corner off. It wasn't long after that that I get the call to "GET UP THERE" Off I go! Get to the pens and :damnit: !!! That damned Sneaky Wench had foaled in that corner!!!!!! RIGHT UNDER OUR NOSES! LITERALLY :hwall:

Oh a side note: Foaling went perfect, Mare and Filly are healthy!

Not getting to see our own mare on cam foaling - PRICELESS!

Note to all mares still due: READ THE MANUAL

Well our foaling season is finally over!!!!!

We ended up with 2 Fillies and 2 Colts & 1 Angel Mare (and her colt)

Note to all, if a horse owner asks you for "couch duty" so they can go to a horse show, with the mare overdue - say no. Murphys law will have that mare foal while they are away!

Here is Spitfire, my first delivered foal!

Here is Rebel

Here is Spirit

Here is a picture of Belle (the first foal I posted in this thread at 2 months old) getting her first clipping. She was not sure what to make of the experience.
