    Powder Blue meets his cousins...

I am no clam expert, but surefire signs are a mantle that isnt fully extended and that is losing its color. Most of the clams we keep in our reef are from the shallows...not deeper than ~20 feet i think. Actually, until clams reach ~3" in length, they cannot support themselves on light...

Food / Feeding Technique - Clown

I had a G/S maroon that ate ANYTHING I put in the tank. I never had to turn any of the pumps off...he had NO problem chasing the food down. I prefer the little Formula One (or whatever) pellets because i think any uneaten food makes less of a mess than flakes do. Jesse

    Aiptasia Anemone

If indeed you do have a large population of aiptasia, do get a peppermint shrimp. They will handle the aiptasia and will thrive even after the population is gone. I have had the same peppermint for 2.5 years now and he is still thriving and I rarely see an aiptasia. When I do see one, thats...

    Reefman's 20L...

Mike, The other pump I'm looking at is the QuietOne 4000. I have heard alot of good stuff about them, and those who have had problems with them got great support from the manufacture. It only consumes 50 watts, has a 10.5 ft max head, and at 4 ft head produces around 775 gph. Push that...

Not much to update...just been doing a ton of research...I want to do this tank the right way. One update. I made the holes slightly to properly fit the 2 1" bulkheads. Second update. I bought a SCWD that should arrive in a couple of days. I created a partial CLM (closed loop...

    Powder Blue meets his cousins...

Nobody has seen (well, read) a beating until you visit Mike's thread on reefcentral.com about the Crocea that he had in his HIGHLY upgraded nano cube...I think it was the "MikeGuerrero" nanocustoms edition. OMG...the comments made on that thread were insane!! Oh well...shouldnt bring up the...

    Powder Blue meets his cousins...

Mike, It takes some guts to post this thread on "that other site". It was a sure shot for a flaming. Oh well, you handle yourself well. IMO, it does seem like alot of tang, but I think with your diligence and observational abilities (if that makes sense), everything will be okay. I dont...

    Led lighting??

Because LED lights use pratically no electricity and last for tens of thousands of hours, some people choose to let them run 24 hours a day. Otherwise, run them the reverse of your daylighting...when your lights go off, LEDS come one...lights come one, LEDs go off.

    Need help

IMO, the best heaters out there are the titanium heaters...they are more expensive bbut they will run precisely for many many years. Jesse

    Need help

Welcome...as far as lighting goes, that depends on exactly what kind of softies you are talking about, some need more light and some need less. However, if I were to set up a 15g, I would go with the Dual Satellite 24" 2x65 watt PC fixture. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/P ...

    Reefman23's 16g Bowfront...

I began running my HOT magnum yesterday with carbon and filter floss. It has now been running for almost 24 hours and I cannot believe the difference!! Usually when I put my arm in the tank and then removed it, I was left with a light "ocean scent" on my arm...now there is no odor. The water...
