    24 gal Nano Cube Reef

yes, you can simply add a small power head by suctioning it to the rear (or where ever you like) and this would add some flow. As far as the sponge, you stated that you are utilizing a large sponge filter...i assumed this meant the sponge that comes in the rear chamber of all nanocubes. what...

    24 gal Nano Cube Reef

Yah, plate needs to be on the sand, but it looks like there might not be enought room on the sand bed. Also, how long have you had the yellow tang and the angel in the tank? That's risky for a 24 gallon, considering the size of the tang. Has the angel been picking at the corals, it looks like...

    Jesse's 20L+20L fuge...

They are not a mated pair, so I paid $35 each which is pretty cheap. Usually in my area they are around $45 to $50 each. These are indeed a breed of clowns that do go up in price as they age, especially if they do mate. However you can get them for much cheaper than that $300 price tag that...

Nah, mike i think what i said earlier was not the best way of putting it. I have studied SPS, but im not really interested in keeping SPS. All i have right now is a digitata...that is all i plan on having. Jesse

Sorry about that... they are from the Ocellaris family...aka false perculas To give the full "non-scientific" name: Tank raised (England) Black and White Percula Clowns Scientific name: Amphiprion ocellaris var. To the best of my knowledge, the only major breeders of these clowns...

    Jesse's 20L+20L fuge...

Here are a couple of pics of my new babies...they are great. Now, taking pics of a clownfish are tough because they never sit still and are always wiggling. So you can imagine how hard it is to take decent pics of TWO clowns who are curiously exploring their new home. I think that they...

    Jesse's 20L+20L fuge...

Thanks, Dickie. although I am not too sure about SPS yet, but definitely going to get some ultra grade croceas sooner or later. Thanks Jennie. Flow wise, I am using a QuietOne 4000 with a 1 1/2" pvc return line. The 4000 is rated for ~1,050 gph at 0'. But then it goes through the SCWD...

well geez...after all of your wonderful comments about the rockwork, I may just leave it...at least for the time being. And seems how my tests have all had perfect readings since the first day (no nitrates/nitrites, ammonia, even alkalinity and pH are great), I am off to pick up a pair of black...

    Switching freshwater to saltwater...

The LS will really make a difference. First of all, the gravel with trap junk which will lead to high nitrate/nitrites. Secondly, there is a small amount of buffering that is done by oolitic live sand...aragonite-based sand. Thirdly, if it is deep enough (3"-6"), it can be a great form of...

    Jesse's 20L+20L fuge...

Everything has been transferred to this tank from the other one. But because the 16 gallon had such a small footprint compared to this larger 20L, it looks rather empty. I purchased some rubble from a LFS that had it in their SPS sump/fuge for months to place into my fuge, but after looking at...

Me again - AquaPod vs Nano Cube?

i like the HQI metal halide fixture that is available for the Aqua Pod, personally. I think that the problem with cracking in the nano's can be taced partly to poor shiiping/handling, but i think that most of the problems with them have been solved in the 2006 models. Jesse
