    PLEASE HELP WITH MY ANTHELIA!

my tank runs at 80-81. if you run your tank cooler like that, when your lights come on youmay experience large swing in temp...this can be stressful. 72 is too cold...turn your heater up to 77 or so...but do it over a couple day period, not all in one day. Jesse

    Current USA "Fission" Protein Skimmer

After seeing one in person at a LFS for the first time last weekend, i wouldnt think that they would work very well...They are so teeny that there would be very little contact time with the air bubbles. it can only be somewhat effective with that along with it's short stature. If you COULD...

My new florida ricordia from Edgray....

Make sure that your ric is not in an area of high flow...they prefer lower flow areas. I feed my tank phytoplex and chromaplex once a week, switching between the two every week. I have also recently started feeding cyclopeeze as well. HTH, Jesse

Once you are ready to get corals (ie. you are sure your tank is stable) Tongs in Huntington Beach is a GREAT place to get them. I see that you are in Corona which would be somewhat of a drive, but it may be worth it if you where in the area. It is off the 405 freeway at Magnolia... Tong's...

i have 3/4" pvc...not a power head. thats the main reason. I also have the alternating current. And actually, the clowns are less than 1" each...yes, they look teeny in my 30" long tank. I have to say that once you put these into your tank, there is nothing boring about them. they have a...

    Crazy lighting question, MH

Electronic ballasts are the best for MH...magnetics can shorten the life of the bulb and produce more heat.... Check out this site http://www.illuming.com/ The Aromat ballast is great, but the metal halide retro kits the best deal and are fantastic. This guy is very trusted...he is a...

MH in small spaces... 3 inches over water

Can you hang the canopy? Check out my link... http://www.nanotank.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2794 ...this would defeat the height problem. How tall is the tank? If it is over 16" tall or so, i would suggest considering the 150 watters if you want clams/ SPS. Two MH on a 36" long tank is...

    Crazy lighting question, MH

Yes, you can do that. However, all that is useable is the housing. You would have to wire in a MH ballast, change out the socket, and the reflector that comes with those isnt all that great. Here is a possible useful link... make sure to read the whole thread...
