    New office Nano

How long have you had it up and running? I've got a very similar setup at work. I don't have any fish in it yet, just some shrimp and corals. How's the cherub doing in yours. This is really too small a tank for him. Same goes for the tang in the 30 gal. I've been watching a cute...

    My 30 gal.

Other than the obvious tang comments that I'm not gonna go into I think your tank looks great. I really like the aquascaping.

Advice requested re: Corals are fighting...

I don't know if you guys have seen this, but since you're talking about elegance corals and the LFS is evidently still telling you that they're easy to keep I thought you might want to check it out. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthrea ... did=310425

Re: only thing i can do is... You'll probably need to find someplace to host it, much like your pictures.

Re: wow, that's cheap I haven't seen one of the moon-glow ones set up yet just the regular ones, which is what you're describing. The basic difference is that the moon-glow one appears to have an actinic bulb in the lamp, and it's packaged with glow in the dark gravel, which of course is...

Pics of my new, (to me), office tank.

My boss is VERY cool. He got a new office, and so he decided to upgrade to a larger tank. He gave me this one basically cause he knew I'd be able to take care of it, and because he didn't want to deal with cleaning it and breaking it down. I've got a few more frags in the tank now...

    I bought a .75 like Karita!!!

Re: Karita You have to host your pics somplace that allows remote linking. I use photobucket.com, but there are several sites out there. Once you have your images uploaded/hosted somewhere you just it the IMG button paste in the tag for your image, then hit the IMG button again. There's...

    Missing Featherduster

I've never had one come back that actually fell out or left it's tube. I've had them re-grow heads, so If I see the head gone but no worm I leave it alone.

Re: Mikey I like these. http://store.yahoo.com/pet-king/730773882274.html It looks like the 'moon glow' bulb is just a small actinic bulb. I've been trying to find a cheap one and then buy another normal fixture to go with it, to balance out the actinic bulb. The things to consider...

    Coral Banded Shrimp

The original yellow clown I had never got caught by my CBS. I think that any small fish is gonna be a potential meal for him. The CBS is naturally nocturnal, and most of our reef fish are diurnal. When they are wedged into cracks and crevices sleeping the CBS is out hunting for food. This...

    Some pics from last night.

Actually all of this is true, and none of it is true to some extent. Sun polyps tend to be nocturnal. They don't require any light at all. I've had my tiny little colony pretty much the whole time I've had the tanks up and running. I do have it in a shadier area of the tank, but it's not...

Pic of the week --- Coral feeding

Thanks for the compliments. I friggin can't wait to get the new lights over the tanks. I think the colors are going to be much, much better. B I posted some I took awhile back of the living room. They're here. http://nanotank.com/viewtopic.php?t=276 I posted a few that are a bit...

Re: intense Hospital/quarantine tanks are without a doubt a great idea, and very responsible. I know several people that won't introduce ANY fish or coral until it's sat in their Q-tank for at least 2 weeks. I haven't bothered with one yet. But at some point in the near future I might...

    Some pics from last night.

Yep the hammer frag is from AC. I got the rics from a guy that was tearing down his tank and moving to Seattle. I was looking for some extra live rock and he posted to RC that he was selling 300+ pounds of it in 100lb lots and that he was in Houston. I emailed him and told him that I was only...

They also have very small heaters called junior heaters at Walmart. Unfortunately several people seem to have problems with them. But then they seem to have problems with many of the smaller heaters. The Hagen heaters come in 25w, and 50w, in the 6inch size. I found them on marinedepot.com...

If they were far enough gone that they weren't eating I doubt there's any treatment that would have helped, but to clarify, the garlic method doesn't rely on fish eating it to be effective. Oh, and I'd scale back the number of cloves of garlic for a nano tank. B

Just thought I'd post some of the other pics I took last night. Brian Small BTA The hermit give it a bit of perspective. New sun polyps. Sessile worm in the new sun polyps. Four Ricordia shots. One of two purple firefish that don't like to sit still worth a damn...

On the subject of ich. I haven't tried NO ich. In fact, I haven't even heard of it. I have tried kick ich with pretty decent results. I followed the directions exactly and it didn't harm anything, and my fish recovered. The last time I had an outbreak I used fresh garlic instead, and it...

Just to point out that sh*t happens and that I don't have all the answers. In the last month I've lost both my catalina gobies, that had been in the tank for a few months doing fine, a yellow-headed jawfish that never ate, and the sunburst anthia that was huge and doing fine for well over a...
