Does anyone know of a good digital camera >250?

Looking at the Z2 specs it looks like a pretty decent camera. If I were looking at cameras point and shoot prosumer type cameras right now I'd probably go with the nikon coolpix 5400. It's been discontinued so there are some really good rebates right now that bring it down to about $300...

    Beautiful as always. :-) B

    Need critique of nano design

Ah...I was doing it by the full dimensions. 24"x36"x12"/231 = 44.88 Honestly I don't care what you call it. You can call it big bird. All I care about is seeing the pics. :-) B

    Dwarf Lionfish

Yeah, I've been a couple times since Scott took over the saltwater dept, and they've become marsh sponsors. I've posted pics of stuff they've got for sale a couple times now. Marsh is having a membership drive there this weekend and I'm going to try to go through there and take pics. B

    Need critique of nano design

Looks good Jim. Although a 45g tank doesn't really count as a nano...Well, I guess if it's sitting beside a 150g one it might look like one. B

    Dwarf Lionfish

I've had one of these guys, and their mouths are huge...If you added him, you'd be back to one fish the first time he got hungry. ;-) I"m on the lookout for a dwarf fu lion now. B

    Dwarf Lionfish

I think it might be a bit small for him. He's likely to eat the perc, and predators tend to be very messy eaters so if a fish is a predator, figure twice the bioload as a comparably sized non-predator fish. B

    A lot of questions

For a small tank with no skimmer that has fish in it. Yep. B

6g work nano pics. IMAGE INTENSIVE!

 ...I know...I was just being lazy. I have done that from time to time. It's also helpful with some fish. They all seem to slow down when you turn everything off, like they're looking around going, "What the hell happened?". B

    10 gal help

After looking at the ingredients I'd say it'd probable be fine if you clean it very thoroughly before using it. B

Thanks...It's been very slow in developing. Still is for that matter. B

    jbj nano cube?

I think for different people it's different things. The things that I like about them are that they're very clean looking. Everything is inside the tank. The only way to get the same look with any other tank is to drill it, and then you're talking a stand as well. These things can just be...

    Friday Pics

Thanks. Some of that is the autolevels I run in PS...But with an increasing number of shots, there's very little difference. I'm hoping that means that I'm getting better with the camera. :???: B

    Friday Pics

I bought two of them. One went in the nano, one went in the home tank. The one in the nano simply disappeared. I came in one morning and the staghorn coral was empty. I haven't seen it since. The one in the home tank wandered around for a few days then moved out of the staghorn coral into...

    starting a 30g soon

A lot of this depends on what you want to keep in it. If you want to keep corals then you need to look at the different types available and decide which types you prefer. SPS- Small Polyp Stony corals - Require high light. LPS- Large Polyp Stony corals - Require moderate light. These...

    T5's

Yep you can. You'll need to keep a close eye on things as the bulbs near the 10-12 month mark, so that you can change them out when things start to look like they might not be working at full strength anymore. They're supposed to be good for 18months, but I haven't seen any bulbs yet of any...

    A lot of questions

I'd second SM in the suggestion to do a smaller weekly water change rather than a larger monthly one. There's no reason to add fish to complete the cycle. Just test your tank after a couple weeks to see where your levels are. Once everything is reading at zero you can go ahead and start...

6g work nano pics. IMAGE INTENSIVE!

Is that what it's called. I assumed it was some type of worm. I took about a dozen shots of it trying to get the frogspawn tentacles and the strand in focus. They kept waving with the current and these two were the only ones that were good. ;-) B
