6g work nano pics. IMAGE INTENSIVE!

Drip acclimate the star for about 45 minutes, then plop it in. The shrimp knows where I drop them and is usually out and waiting for it about halfway through the acclimation process. B

6g work nano pics. IMAGE INTENSIVE!

Thanks guys. Jennie, it's a fairly sad little chili coral. This is the second one I've got. The first one is in the octo tank and was probably about the 2nd or 3rd coral I got. The thing is that they don't seem to be very happy within a couple months. They don't die, but they don't...

6g work nano pics. IMAGE INTENSIVE!

You have to increase your ISO. Using a flash doesn't hurt....Although I generally try not to use it as it tends to wash out the coloring of the corals. The lowest ISO setting on my camera is 64. This is what I shoot most stuff at. My highest setting is 400, but you start to get a lot of...

It's not gonna matter. The sand will get stirred up no matter how you move it. Air will get to the anaerobic bacteria pockets regardless of what you do, so just scoop it out, rinse it off good and put it in the new tank. B

    T5's

They're much better than PCs, but only if each lamp has it's own individual reflector, which tends to push the price up quite a bit. However they lamps remain effective nearly a third longer than PC lamps, so eventually you end up saving money. You should probably double check the height for...

    Tank too hot.

It sounds like your heater is out of whack, or simply too powerful a heater for your particular tank. I'd get a new one. But then, I also don't run heaters on any of my tanks, so maybe I'm not the best one to give heater advice. B

    50 gallon Oceanic thread

Very cool setup. Kris, Why do you think the stainless will be a PITA in the future? Does it not get along with saltwater? I thought it wasn't affected by salt. B

    29 gallon lighting?

If I were looking to light a 24" tank I'd take a hard look at this t-5 setup. http://www.championlighting.com/product ... 1&featured And you can buy legs for the satellite pc fixtures. They're at the bottom of this page. http://www.championlighting.com/home.php?cat=578 The orbit...

A couple of new additions to the cube

This one has the most current pic of the tank....I brought my camera with me to work today so I'm gonna get some before I leave this afternoon. Hopefully I can get them up tonight or tomorrow. B http://nanotank.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=510

If you go with a new sandbed you shouldn't have any cycle at all. If you use your existing sandbed you're likely to have a small cycle due to the anaerobic bacteria in the sand dying off as it gets stirred up. You can minimize the cycle by rinsing the sand out really well with some of your...

    29 gallon lighting?

130w would be enough for you to keep most LPS, softies, mushrooms, and zoos. You won't really be able to keep SPS, and I think clams and anemones are a bad idea until you're tank has been up for at least a year for the tank to mature, and for you get the experience necessary to keep these...
