Metal Halide On 6G: Is this overkill?

PAR is Photosynthetic Active Radiation (usable light by plants). I vote for 10k with pc actinic supplements.

I need some support from my Nano family...

Well good luck and keep us posted on how they do. Is that a 20gallon long? And what light exactly are you using?

Glass piece on 66 gallon tank

Good idea on waiting with the clean up crew. Too many corals to loose.

    Pirate's Reef

Of course it matter! This is one amazing build and is nice to go back and see how it was put together. You have some really good tips on making a tank from scratch in the begining. Here's an odd question you might know the answer too. At the local home stores they have MH ballasts and bulbs...

    First Nano Effort...

If you want SPS I think a wave maker and several more powerheads would be a wise investment. I don't have any experience with SPS, I'm just going off what I've read on this site.

Need some advice setting up an aquaround 8 gallon

If you are worried about evaporation put a good lid on it or get a auto top off unit. Shrimp are always great choices, maybe a sexy shrimp or two instead of fish?

Wat is the basic requirement /setup for a 15g fish tank

Firefish and yellow watch man gobies are too bad either.

    Set up order

Well the overall build quality was poor, pieces had to be forced to the point of making noise...you know that plastic "I'm going to snap" noise. Then the having to constantly fuss with the skimmer to get it actually skimming was quite bothersome. Don't get me wrong, any skimming is better than...

    Set up order

That particular skimmer is iffy IMO. I returned it because I did not like it. But you may not "need" the skimmer. If you do weekly water changes you should be fine. Your water will be clearer/cleaner with a skimmer but with such a small tank I don't think it's a must.

    My Custom 6G Nano

Mix the buffer in the top off water until it matches the P.H. of your tank water then you can put it under your tank with no huge worries (If you use the mix make sure to mix well). Some people dose kalk (calcium) in their top off water. Ask someone with more experience with kalk though, I'm...

Wat is the basic requirement /setup for a 15g fish tank

Do you want fish and corals, or just corals, or just fish?

    Newly vacant tank, ideas?

Ok. My freshwater lobster (Ramon) passed away. And now I have a 30g oceanic hex tank that is empty (well I have freshwater plants in there now). Any ideas on a non-coral theme tank? The reason I say non-coral is because I can not spring for the MH that I would need for this tank, so I will...

    My Custom 6G Nano

I don't do the skimming (but I will add one later I'm sure, when I increase my bioload) but all I use is buffer on my top off water.

Nice little tank! I do have to agree on the three fish thing, might be a bit too much.
