    "moon lighting"

If you are DIY inclined you could go to Radio Shack. The people there will help you get the right LED (really cheap too) and all the wiring to put it together. All in all I'd expect you to be able to build a single LED moon light for under 20 dollars. Add in 5 bucks for a timer (Home Depot...

    Low light coral

For what it is worth Drs. Foster and Smith has excellent customer service. I purchased the 80w current orbital light fixture from them and it had a burned out light when I powered it on for the first time. Called them up and they walked me through switching the bulbs to make sure it was the...

    some cool tanks

I love planning projects as well. Like for this hanging a tank on the wall I think actually cutting the dry wall out and placing the tanks flush with the wall is the way to go. Of course this assumes you have a room behind that wall to house the tank and cords and allow you to maintain the...

    Pirate's Reef

Don't know about the yellow skimmate. Where are you getting the water? If it is still around for so long it has to be something you keep putting in or haven't taken out yet (I know, I know, Mr. Obvious here, just thinking out loud). I too prefer the lighter sand, any specific brand or is it...

    My Custom 6G Nano

That is a pretty cost efficient looking UV. I've never used or seen those up close that one seems to be as basic as it gets. So if money is an issue I say go for it and take it for a test. Nanotuners is pretty good about taking things back if you are not happy with them (don't take too long...

    My Custom 6G Nano

According to Mike the UV unit is worth the price. He claims without it he would have lost quite a few of his fish. You could get a smaller one for quite cheap. I would recommend setting up the UV so it can be taken off without undoing your plumbing. I think it involves getting it's own...

    My Custom 6G Nano

I'd kick the skimmer and the bioballs. Mike had a huge fight with ich not too long ago. He used a UV filter among other things. Do a search for his thread and it should provide some insight. HTH.

    camera settings

I'm not a camera buff but I do know resolutions. Take pictures at the highest possible setting then crop the picture to the size you want. This will avoid grainy looking pictures. I've seen Google's Picasa do some ok editing of pictures. I personally use photoshop, but I've only got that...

    Help with chiller please!!!

Too much flow. Plus even with temps that high I'd let a full day pass in between the tweaks to let the temps gradually adjust. Are you sure you'd need a pump that in not submersible? Couldn't a powerhead just pump the water to the chiller outside of the tank?

Help... new 10 gallon, set up.

Drs. Foster and smith have several light fixtures that will work great for a AGA 10 gallon tank. Coralife has a 96 watt and then there is the 80 watt Current fixture. I chose the Current fixture because it has three power cords (timer friendly) while the coralife only had one. Plus the...

    Picture Frame 20's!

Quite a nice tank! After a little reading the plenum is not for me. Requires too much sand and I'm not that proficient on designing sumps :D

    My Custom 6G Nano

That is one very nice looking setup. I do wonder what you plan to put in there. If you want corals I think you will looking to upgrade rather quickly. That rock is  AWESOME , is it one piece? It's kind of hard to see what is in your back area. Is there some way for you to...

    Picture Frame 20's!

Thanks for the explaination! But isn't that just a saltwater version of the undergravel filter? If so don't you have to clean it yearly? Sorry for the questions but if the system doesn't require cleaning I may try it in my fuge area for more nitrate reduction.
