PFO Solaris LED lights, anyone know much about them?

Don't remember where I read about it, but some guy put together an LED light strip using LEDs (not these solaris ones, but some of the stronger ones). He used some light reading device (not PAR but light intensity reading device of some type) and he found out that the LEDs where actually very...

    Acrylic

Hmm. Odd, he would know. I'm just not used to acrylic warping like that, or it not being able to hold it's own weight.

    Acrylic

You know the answers to your questions. :cool1: Depending on the size of the lid you made maybe a bit thicker material would be nice, but I think it's just "you get what you pay for".

    Fluval is GONE...

If you only plan on using the fluval for the quaratine tank and then clean the filter after each use. (don't use the cannister constantly). You should be fine. For prop tank idea I would just sell the cannister and get a HOB or sump.

    More flow

I vote on a second smaller PH. Maybe have the streams hit each other and give you a nice chaotic current?

I personally would wait to stock the tank any further until the ecosystem stabalizes.

    Problems with Overflow

Oh yeah! The surface skimmers weren't always there. Ok, I was thinking there was a surface skimmer but the water levels were just above it. Ok...now I see.

    Problems with Overflow

Sounds like there is just too much water in the tank. I'm not a cube or aquapod kinda guy but I'm pretty sure the water levels should be a bit lower in the back chambers. Maybe I'm not getting a proper image in my head of what was going on.

    Adding extra fan

It will reduce temperature, but your evaporation will go up. It's a trade off. There are auto top off kits that will help keep your water level in check.

Alkalinity and Calcium (+ stocking Q's)

I prefer to let nature take it's course instead of medicating. Takes a bit longer but it allows things to balance themselves out a bit more naturally (well as natural as a 10 gallon glass box of rocks, sand, and water can get  )
