    Nano Fanatic!

Don't get discouraged. Just go slow and steady. If in doubt, get an answer you feel comfortable with, and then proceed with a healthy bit of caution.

    Best way to reduce phosphate?

I have one of the coral life RO/DI and it can be hooked up to a standard facet or an outside hose facet. In the long run the RO/DI unit is the most cost saving and it does have to break in, but I didn't see a HUGE jump in my water bill (actually no jump at all, but my city does this funny thing...

New 6G Nano Tank (first time)

I have an odd question. Can't an Ebay purchase be shipped to you? I'm sorry for the ignorant question, but for something like chemi pure and other lighter items the shipping couldn't be THAT high....could they?

"12 gallon" Nano cube holds 7 gallons?

I don't know about the chemistry involved but I've always heard that RO/DI is the best water to use, then RO because the water is not soft nor hard just dead in the middle. I like the dead clam! I personally just got a refractometer from ebay and it literally takes 2 seconds to test the water...

anyone own a current prime 1/15hp chiller???

I don't own a chiller but just what I know about how the technology works, it would make sense that either could be a in or an out. If there is no internal pump then I would safely assume that either hook up could be used for an input. It is after all just a heat exchanger.

    my first nano tank

Well I do agree about the lighting not being needed. But I am putting my lights on the schedule in the beginning only because I want to be absolutely sure that my temperatures are rock solid before I add any critters to the tank. I will have more algae but I can live with that. I also...

    55 in progress

Thanks for the tip. Found a needlewheel pretty cheap. It's a coral life but it was a good price. I should have the 10 gallon sump all together and everything finally assembled next weekend. I know that this is just prolonging the cycle process but I am not in any rush. I did reassemble the...

    55 in progress

Well I finally started the 55 gallon. I got the tank and stand in a trade and they were both that fake ugly oak trim so I painted it black :) Painted the back dark blue and put in some pink fiji sand along with about 60 pounds of live rock. I know I haven't topped it off yet, but I am...

PADI, SDI and SSI scuba certifications?

I have PADI and it was quick and easy, but I learned all I needed to. But then again I had a discounted rate due to military base and what not. I have the open water certification, I can dive so long as when I look up the sky is there so no wrecks or cave for me...yet.

    Plans for my tank

Anemones are mobile and very sensitive. If you do get one be very diligent on the water parameters. I wouldn't recommend one but it is your tank and money.

    BLACK SAND

Seems that Marc has moved Casper (the seahorse) to a barebottom tank... Do a google search for "melev's reef" and you will find his site.

    WHICH SALT

Make it before hand in a 5 gallon bucket and put a lid on it. Just make sure to get it at the temp of the tank and mix the water a bit with a PH before using it.
