    My New Firefish Jumped Out!

Ouch. Tough break, but I don't know how to deal with this one. Sounds like it may be air in the swim bladder.

What to put in 6 gallon nano?

I love my blue spot jawfish, but if you go a jawfish route go for 4-6" sand bed and make sure you put your rock in first because they really do move a lot of sand quickly.

    Water check!

There are silica test kits and silica filters. I would check the water to see if you have an excess of silica before purchasing expensive filters. :) Well, you should have ammonia at 0, nitrite at 0, and a couple of nitrates (unless your system is dealing with the nitrates in some way).

    SUMP DESIGN REFORMS (LONG POST)

Well, I like your ideas but have no personal experience with this method. You will want a slow movement of water through the sump while maintaining the water movement IN the sump. So a small return pump and a power head just moving water (and the macro algae rolling slightly) in your sump may...

    rusty colored sand

It's up to you, I don't have anything there (middle chamber) right now, but I will be putting a macro algae next weekend.

    Water check!

Basically silica can be found in tap water and in some sands (not the stuff we use but like play sand and stuff). When I was in Iraq we actually imported sand... LOL but we got the high silica stuff so when bullets where fired into the sand glass formed around the bullets slowing them down a...

    rusty colored sand

+1 But if they have been in there a while then slowly remove them to allow the good bacteria to grow in the rock (where it should be). Say 25% at a time every week.

    rusty colored sand

the Hydro flow? Depends if you want the variable flow (most corals prefer variable in my experience) To clean my pumps I just put them in vinegar and let them run for an hour or so. But in my nano I can't go without flow that long so I stick a koralia nano for water movement while cleaning...

    Water check!

Diatoms generally need silica in order to survive in our tanks.

    Water check!

Maybe a bristle worm? I like bristle worms as they are free clean up crew that don't mess with any healthy live stock (in my experience). Does it look like it has fuzzy edges?

I have blue and zebra in my tanks, but any hermit can and will murder snails for their shells.

What to put in 6 gallon nano?

pseudos are notorious for being mean. But that is a generlization (although a pretty accurate one from my observations). For a 6 gallon I personally wouldn't put in a clown fish as they tend to be messy eaters. Not sure on the gramma but the gobies should all be fine. Now just to be...

    Water check!

I don't have a skimmer on my nano. I personally didn't run the skimmer on my large tank during cycling simply because nothing was in there and I wanted the DOC (dissolved organic compounds) to decompose to aid in the nitrogen cycle. I personally would let the tank cycle completly, do a large...

72 Oceanic Reef Ready Bow Front Evolution...

MAN! Sorry to hear about you selling it. Are you getting out of the hobby? If I was closer I might take you up. If it comes down to parting out keep me in mind for the chiller, ozone, and calcium setups. ;-) ;-) ;-) The only person that I know of off hand is in ohio...
