    As for the skimmer you may not need one if you keep up on the water changes every week , some may say that you should . As for the water I just mix mine here we pay 5 plus bucks per gallon here in Pa . I cant offer much help on the lights but if you can afford the 250 or higher I say go for it...

    first off welcome :welcome I think Skip hit most of it the only thing I would add to test the water to make sure it is staying inline and the perameters arent going through a cycle the other is to have a little extra water incase you need to do extra water changes if anything should get out...

    It is all over the back glass the filter , it is choking out some shrooms as well as zoas :oops: so I felt it was best to go this route granit it is extreme but I feel it will be worth it hope fully I wll get it under control by scrubbing the LR it wont hurt to place the live rock in water...

    I dont remember what filter you are running but we use carbon pads (floss with carbon in the middle) and chemi pure in our filter but as skip says you need to clean them at minimum 1x a week we just use old tank water and agitate them , and we also put new ones in 1x a month :mrgreen:

    I would think that you could add it as long as you dont add alot at a time just a small ammount at a time. You may still get diatom blooms if you add it . I have added to ours and only added about a 1/2 of a small dixie cup (3 ounce) at a time , 1 or 2 times aweek...maybe some others can give...
