    low ph

Yeah what skinson said. dont forget that the pH of RO water is low and should be buffered before adding it to the tank... though the salt should be doing that for you if mixed to 1.025 SG. How do the rest of your corals look? Jesse

    wittle bitty worm...YIKES!!!!!!

The worms in the sand and the worms on the glass shouldnt be related. Both are beneficial though IMO. Jesse

    Houston!! We have a problem....maybe!

I know... I read that and I was thinking that same thing to myself as I was typing! But I gotta know those things before I can start to get to the source. :langle Jesse

    Houston!! We have a problem....maybe!

Are you testing for things such as nitrates/nitrites, calcium/alk, etc? Which phyto are you using and how much? How large/frequent are the water changes, what kind of water/salt are you using? How old are your lamps? What kind of corals do you have in the tank, which coral was it that died...

    When will my water clear?

Nice setup! One thing though... is that the standard placement of the 2x 32W PC lighting? I would just suggest moving it down to just a couple inches above the water level when you begin adding corals. Keep us updated... feel free to start a thread for your tank in the "Nano - 20 and...

all actinic no 10k pc tank

They would probably be fine if you were just keeping mushrooms and feather dusters. Feather dusteres would benefit more from feedings anyways. Just curious though, what's your reason for doing so or considering to do so? Jesse

    Cris' 60

Hey Cris, the rock may be turning green on it's way to becoming purple coraline. I have found that the white areas will become green and then that green turns into th edesirable purple algae. Good to hear that everything seems to be doing well. How did you manage to solve the noise...

    Fission Power Skimmer

Fisrt off... :welcome to nanotank.com! Secondly, despite what the fish guy told you, there is no NEED for a skimmer in that size tank. Frequent water changes, say, 10%-20%/week and one larger water change per month, will keep everything including the trace elements and nitrates just about...

    Pump question

WIll that fit in the rear chamber? I am not too fond of Rios mainly because I have heard many stories of them going bad. It says that it runs on 27 watts.... that will undoubtedly have some impact on the temp, probably not too bad though. Personally, I would look into the MJ1200. It doesnt...

    Reef Experts...

I think an acrylic tank would be fine with 5 holes... I could be wrong though. I would look into using a ball valve to fine-tune the flow of the pump, a union wherever you may want to take the plumbing apart for cleaning/maintenance, some sort of screen over the inlet bulkhead.... that's all I...

    Jesse's 20L SPS tank

I just use a Pentax Optio S5i. It takes pretty good macros, is the size of an altoids can, has an aluminum body, many presets, I can manually adjust the WB, ISO etc. I dont usually mess with the lighting, although sometimes I shoot with just the blue lights on. Thanks for the compliments...

    Reef Experts...

I would do one bulkhead for the outlet (the bulkhead that will suck water out of the tank into the pump), probably like 1-1/2". I would probably do (4) 1" bulkheads for the returns. The outlet I would put somewhere near the center of the back wall and the returns I would put one in each corner...

    Fast days

I only feed my fish 2-3 times per week... It depends on the fish you are keeping. Some fish such as anthias need food 1-2x/day... other fish are less needy. Jesse
