Sounds like the ballast. Where did you buy the retros from? They may be under warranty. Sounds like maybe they shorted out. Do you have any other lighting on the tank? Jesse

Actually the glass isnt much harder to clean than a normal tank. The toughest part is to get the top even across all four sides. Very cool tanks IMO. Jesse

I would say they could support just about anything, especially in the upper half of the tank. Jesse
