    skimming question

What skimmer are you using? Do you notice anything that may be causing the fluctuations such as feeding, putting you hands in the tank, dosing, water changes? Jesse

    Acclimating in new lights

That is bogus. Now I will say this... those fixtures lack individual reflectors so you automatically lose output there. The big advantage of T5s over PCs is that they can be very efficiently reflected down into the aquarium because of their thin diameter and straight shape. PCs lose alot of...

    BUBBLE CORAL

Well I can tell you that they usually like lower lighting and mild currents. Their tissue is pretty fragile and can be easily damaged. Also they should be fed once in a while. What conditions is it in right now? Jesse

I mostly use a free program called FastStone Image Viewer. You can downlad it online and it works pretty well for basic editing. Jesse

    Unwired's 9G Custom Nano Tank

I LOVE copperbanded butterflies... thats is why I HAVE to insist you return him to the LFS or find a much bigger tank for him.. He will just not be content in a 9g tank. They need much more swimming space than that. Jesse

How many fish in a 10 gal?

I wouldnt ever suggest an anemone in a 10g tank no matter what kind of lighting. Most anemones love to move around and when they do they are bound to get sucked into a powerhead or filter.... you cdan imagine the mess that makes. Jesse

    My ricordia

I think the lighting is fine, it may be the flow. Rics dont like much flow from what Ive heard. Nice piece BTW. Jesse

Going shopping for a new 250 watt HQI DE bulb

Personally I think I would go with the Phoenix. No other lamp has the combo of high output AND blue tint. Plus the price cant be beat. The Ushio 14,000k isnt as blue and doesnt have as much output... even the Ushio 10,000k doesnt haev as much output as the Phoenix. The cheaper lamps...

    Jesse's 20L SPS tank

Well, some of you know that this camera took a dive into my tank. It hasnt come back to life since. SOOO..... it was time to replace it. I picked up the new Panasonic Lumix FZ8 and so far I love it. Here are some quick macros of my new Rockstar Supernovas... Jesse

    Pic of my nano 30ltr

Here you go: The tank looks good from what I can see. The only thing is if the substrate you are using is large grain, I would change it out for some live sand. Substrates with large gaps like some of the crushed coral substrates etc can have areas that trap detritus and cause...

    nano sponge

When you say you are using a gravel vac, are you disturbing the sand bed with it? How often do you rinse the sponges> Like Erik said, it is a very good possibilty. Jesse

    no idea

Bubble algae. I would remove the rock from the water, remove the algae, maybe rinse it off in some fresh seawater, then put it back into the tank. HTH, Jesse

    Live rock near light?

First things first. How long has this tank been set up? Are you testing for nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia? It is always a good idea to start new corals out on the bottom of the tank and slowly (over a week or more) move them up to the position where you want them. What kind of corals...

    False Percs

Got a picture? Clown's color will tend to darken in dim lighting. A black and white clown will be an obvious brownish-black color even at a young age... was yours the "traditional" orange color when you bought it? Is it darkening up from stripes out like a true perc? Jesse
