you would definitely be wise to use something under the tank. So weird that the weight of the tank doesn't level that out. you should call Marine Depot and see what they recomend..... If it sits under stress like that long enough do you think there is a chance the seems could start pulling apart and leak?

What did you use to close off the bottom two openings? what kind of Cement?

Yeah I dont want to leave it that way.

I used some scrap plastic from the false wall of the old cracked nanocube i had laying around and cemented it in place on the inside of the chamber with Weld-on #16. Seems to be doing the trick and you dont even notice it drom the display side.

Eddy, I decided against the black sand. I heard too many people say that with MH lighting, white sand just looks better. Maybe if I ever set up a nano with PC lighting I may give it a try. I love the sand that you got me though, thanks again!

what's up Jesse? Haven't heard from you in a while. I assume you haven't touched the tank again? ;-)
Not much Cris. Sandy is feeling better now but I really havent had time (or $$) to touch the tank. I did pre-pay for 100 gallons of RO/Di water at mu LFS I got 100 gallons for the price of 80 gallons... $24. That's $0.24/gallon.

Now i just need salt. I am going to go with the Red Sea Coral Pro. Sandy and I have to come visit you and your wife.

What happened? I thought you were going to use Kent Marine Salt?

Towards the end of the week would be good for us. I need your advice for my future set up too. I'm thinking about just using my 60 for my sump and getting a custom 100 gallon. 48" x 24" x 20" with a center overflow for like $250. Anyway baby's crying I gotta go because Kate's staring at me. now yelling.

OK I'm back. The window to the sea guy says he can get me a that tank for about $250. Seams like a good deal to me but I'll probably have them drill a few extra holes for me and maybe do two corner overflows instead of the center. I don't know. That's still a few months out if it happens.

Let me know about next week and have a very Merry Christmas.

Eh, I just kept reading and reading and it seems that the levels at which the RSCP salt mixes up to is pretty ideal for what I am going for... no dosing and focusing only on water changes to replace the elements. Plus it is readily available ina 175g size for $40.

Alright let me know for sure and Ill try my best to be there. What is going on with Window to the Sea??? I was just there on thurs and the store was empty. Nearly all of the tanks were torn down and the place was dead.

I really really really want to check out Aquarium in Motion in Fullerton. I have heard RAVE reviews. Maybe we can stop by there.

They've been remodeling for about two months now. He doesn't have much help and he's bogged down with building people tanks. He does a lot of DIY stuff for people at a decent price.

I've never heard of it, but I'll cruise with you. I have all week off. I have to run around and do some work stuff on Wednesday but it should only take a few hours in the morning. Maybe wednesday afternoon around 3:00 would be good. Let me know. Are you working?

I have Mon/Tues off but go back to work Wed-Fri. I'm off at 3pm though so that still might work for me too.

I have one concern though and that is the very small gaps between the stand and the front corners of the tank. I am 90% sure that it is not the stand and is actually the tank itself. I put the tank on my dining room table and the same gaps appeared. I also used a straight edge to test how flat the stand's surface is and it is dead-on. I think I am going to place the edges of the tank on some sort of foam or neoprene or something just to be sure.
My aquapod 12g has this as well, I think it is to catch water drippage? I first freaked out when I filled it up because I saw water at the bottom of the tank but when i cleaned it up I noticed the tiny space... very weird.

Well I ended up getting some thick foam weatherstripping to go all the way around the bade of the tank so it should be good.

I met up with Eddy a.k.a. "Edgray" and Cris a.k.a. "Kidnano" today and stopped by a couple of LFS, one which was closed and one that apparently has yet to officially open it's doors to the public... oops! Anyways, we ended up at a pretty nice store out in Yorba Linda were Cris bought some stuff. Eddy and I stopped off at a fish store near my house on the way back home and I picked up a little bit of LR... about 2 1/2-3lbs worth. I also picked up a little bit from Cris (thanks again man!). So I guess I can finally take some pics now! And Eddy, I told you that I would have rock in the tank my the end of December... and you doubted me!

These were taken with only the 4 white moon lights. It has nice shimmering effect normally but with a shutter speed of around 1-1.5 seconds you sort of loose that.

Tell me about it! It feels good but I still need about 10 lbs more. I think I want to go a little light on the LR and leave it a bit more open.
