I like your avatar! You should be fine the way you are doing it... you could always turn any pumps off and add it to the general vicinity of your scallop. I have read that you never want to squirt it right at the scallop or clam.

HTH,

Jesse

Thanks Jesse, I'll remember that. I'm debating whether or not I should throw in another pump for more cirulation. I still have the pump that came with the fission skimmer. it's nice and small and not to strong. I was planning to put it right underneath the the skimmer intake on the left side of the tank. Maybe it could blow food towards the scallop.

As for the goby, well ever since I put him back into the tank from finding him in the filter chamber, I haven't seem him since. :cryinga: I know my hermits are happy...

Thanks Erik for your feedback. This is my 3rd reef tank since I started back in 95'. That last 2 weren't half as successful as this one. I'm thinking of starting up a 20L but it's still up in the air.

Eddy - Here's what I took today. I'm using an older model Sony camera so these pics may look a little blurry.

This one I took with a flash. You can actually see Mr. Flame Scallop with it's tongue out.

Well it's not the best shot but you can what's inside the cave. I have mushroom fall in there a couple of weeks back and it's been thriving ever since. It actually opens more fuller than the other mushrooms because of the limited lighting.

Here are some different angled shots:

Top-down shots!!

What is this? Does anyone know? It looks like some type of mollusk. If it's bad, I'm going to syphon it out.

Eddy - I'm down to swap some feather dusters for a zoa frag. Just let me know what you have to swap or PM me the details. Thanks.

Glad you catch him, and well know you have your answer on why your zoas didnt open for a long time and well keep your eyes pilled for more of them cause i bet you'll find more!!! and well look at this thread ok ... i give some links in this thread for an iodine treatment i recommend you to dip the frag is not opening or even better if you can and have the time ill tell you that this A most thing to do!! take all your zoas out and make the dip then introduce to tank and let lights low and alot of flow!

I wonder why there seems to be many people on this site that are getting these nudis. Are the frags coming from the same place? Goes to show the importance of thoroughly checking ALL frags before you place them into your tank, or even better, performing a dip on all frags before adding them to the tank. Even better than that would be to QT all frags before putting them into your tank. That isnt always practical though.

Keep a close eye out for more, especially because you are aware that it may have been laying eggs in your tank. Follow that thread that eddy linked you to and keep us updated.

Thanks for the link Eddy. If was very helpful and informative. Man, it looks like disaster from far away. And I just got done treating the tank for Flatworms! :doh

Jesse- Thanks, I yet to learn the methods of dipping corals. I'll pass on a QT. Its just more maintainence for me which I just don't want to do. I wish I knew about these nudi's before buying my frag packs. Had I known, I would of definetly took the time to dip them. :wah:

NP, i always like to be helpful even if is once in awhile  anyways that happens to all so dont worry and well is not you the lazy one on QT or dipping i didnt used to do it until i started to see problems and well a dip will be enough for zoa frag that you get from your LFS but when ordering you should QT for sure you know what u can do is get a Guppy breather and hang it on your tank for 2 day or so with water of your tank and a small pump if can and then do the dip thats the best method i can think off to lower stress! and well always have in mind if zoas not opening for longer than 2 days something bad is happening!! there is more pests than nudies!

Thanks Eddy, I'm constantly observing my tank on a daily basis now. Not that I wasn't doing it before but this time with a lot more caution! I found 2 new things in my tank. The first one is in my refugium. It looks like hair algae on the wall except it's white/transparent colored? Could it be eggs of some sort? The second one is I might have flatworms popping up again! :wah: But this time they look dark brownish red and not the typical white ones. I saw them on my rocks before but didn't think they were anything because they wouldn't move. Any ideas on what they are? Oh yeah, I was at Lucky Goldfish in Oakland last week and they had the orange ricordias just like yours. I ask them for the price and they said they weren't for sale! They said that they were propagating them.

Lester - Thanks for your comment!! :)

Well, I had found 3 more sacs of eggs and now to of my frags are refusing to open back up. What should I do? should I do a quick r/o dip? And can anyone ID the brownish red flamworm looking things? I'll try and post some pics shortly.

Here are some new additions to the tank:

Anemone crab #2. First one died While I was treating for flatworms. (KRIKEY! What a Beauty?)

Gold Coral Banded Shrimp. Very Shy. Only comes out to eat.

This one you might have already seen. Yellow Gum Drop Goby. Loves to pose for the camera!

Torch Coral. Very green in color however the camera doesn't really bring it out. I regret buying it because it takes up a lot of space when fully expanded and it irritates the zoas next to it.

Also added:

Cleaner Shrimp and a Six Line Wrasse.

tanks looking great, keep up the good work. i would keep an eye on that coral banded shrimp, they tend to get aggressive as they get bigger.

Maybe you could use the torch in the next frag swap? I wish I could see this tank in person, I'm sure the coloring is much different that in the pictures. I think my favorite part is the feather duster fields.
