I too have a six-line wrasse but I don't think mine eats nudi's. At least I haven't seen it eat them. If there was only a way to train them, that would be sweet  It's funny because some days they are completely out of sight and nowhere to be found then one day they're all over!

I've upgraded my 600 Rio pump to a 900 maxi-jet (230gph). It's hard to tell why my corals are not fully opening. I don't if they're still aclimating to the MH's or if it's the zoo eating nudi's. The MH's are running 4 hours a day as of right now and I am increasing 30mins every four days. The nudi's are syphoned out when spotted and looks to be out of sight at the moment. Does anybody know what to do?

What are those things? Where do they come from??
Those little things like bugs are NUDIBRANCHES ZOA EATERS NUDIES they come from wild colonies of zoas that are purchase on the LFS thats why is always recommended to Quarenteen all the new corals you get or a freshwater dip to kill all unwanted creatures that comes on them....

aquemeni5110,

Where did you buy your colonies of corals from? I live about an our away and just wanted to be careful.... Did you freshwater deep or iodine? I did a iodine deep after seeing a multiple of newly hatched babies that I caught when the colonies were closed with a flashlight! Luckly they were on only one colony that was seperated from the others.

I bought them from yourreef.com. They're located in Sacramento. I did give all my frags a freshwater dip. It did the job but not completely.

Thanks Eddy, There's a lot of imperfections on this canopy but it does job. But because it's black, you can't really see them. If I had a second chance to build it again I wouldn't change a thing but spend more time measuring and cutting. I agree with taking pictures with the MH. It can be difficult. Most of the pictures that I have been posting are in "vivid mode". So they may look darker but more richer in color. I've taken in "normal" and "natural" mode and they seem pretty white and dull in color. Also, If you notice I take most of my tank shot pictures from the same angle to avoid glare from the window next to it. I can take better and different pictures at night but I'm still acclimating the lights. I'm seeing better progress with the coral as the lighting schedule reaches slowly to its full 10 hours.

Jesse - Thanks for the postivie FB. It encourages me to spend more money    :lol3:

UPDATE:

I lost my 6 line wrasse yesterday and had found it gutted with it's eyes missing. :cryinga: My Neon goby is missing is well. All I have left is my Cardinal and Masked goby. They had a bad case of ich but they ate like champs so I thought they'd be strong enough to fight it off. I'm going to treat the ich before adding new fish.

NEW MOD:

Milwaukee Instruments Smart pH Meter Monitor bought off eBay for $75 shipped.

DIY probe holder made from ATO parts.

After calibrating and monitoring for a day my PH stays at 8.3 during the day and 8.1 at night.
