NOOB :: 6.6g Bookshelf Aquarium (Petco)

Hmmmm...this is my thought on it. For surface skimming and two chambers filtration, that can be easily solved with one end of the tank being partition off for a sump (3 chambers: receiving end, refugium, returning). As for a hood, i'm thinking about making it out of fiberglass. Any thoughts...

    New 10 gal pics

Blue damsel. I liked them when i had my 75g. I always thought of them a cheap way to add some life and color to the tank, I guess that's why i like them. Any pics of your entire setup? I'm planning on doing a 10g tank, just want some additional ideas. thanks.

Ideas on a 10 Gallon setup

After verifying the price of a 6.6g Bookshelf tank ($50), I think I'll be better off with a 10g tank (~$8-$10 at walmart). This will save me $40, which I can put towards other things for the tank. I've seen a few 10g setup and they are impressive. I'm still trying to figure out how to...

NOOB :: 6.6g Bookshelf Aquarium (Petco)

thanks to those that reply. Y'all are awesome!!! When I mentioned using a hose, it was more so to drain some water out of my tank. Even though I've had some experience with saltwater, I still consider myself a NOOB. From all the replies, I think i can defitely handle the task. As for...

NOOB :: 6.6g Bookshelf Aquarium (Petco)

Thanks to Dickie and Sadielynn for their input. Dickie, I've seen your thread, and that was one of my inspiration for wanting this tank. I just found out that the 6.6g tank is around $40. Wow, i wasn't expecting it to be that steep. Gotta re-think my setup now. It's only ~$25 less than the...

NOOB :: 6.6g Bookshelf Aquarium (Petco)

A couple of new questions for the expert. With the 6.6 tank having such a large surface area at the top, will evaporation rate be higher than that of a minibow 7 gallon? I wouldn't mind having the minibow, but it seems expensive for such a small tank. I know i'm cheap.. :D

NOOB :: 6.6g Bookshelf Aquarium (Petco)

I'm planning on setting up a nano tank with a 6.6g Bookshelf Aquarium. From 2 or 3 examples that I've seen on this forum along with a few other, I think it's a good setup and fairly affordable. From my understanding, with the tank being somewhat shallow, you don't have to have some strong...
