    my newest tank. 3gallons

I have to agree, three fish is pushing the limit pretty hard even in a fully cycled 3 gallon tank.

    Stone Crab??

I say as soon as you can catch him is when you need to remove him. As it grows you fish are in more danger of becoming dinner and as he gets bigger you can end up having more troubles getting it out of holes in your LR.

    20 Gallon Reef Tank

Keep on taking it slow and things should progress nicely. The clown goby will perch on most corals when you add them which looks pretty neat IMO.

    .75g Red Sea Aqua Vase

His is made of acrylic as well but if you notice his light is attatched to a bracket on the rear tankwall. The heat from your light is whats causing the acrylic to warp. If you make it out of 3/16" or 1/4" plexiglass you shouldn't have any troubles. If your light is sitting directly on the...

    WTB: ATO

I built one of those air powered ATOs and I was quite satisfied with its performance. I built it for my Nanocube which of course it turns out I didn't need it for. I have a 1 gallon plastic jug that had Hawaiian Punch in it that I am going to use to make a new topoff container with, the...

    Stocking my first Nano

Since its excess food cleanup you are looking for I would opt for the neon gobies, they are basically bottom dwellers where the food will be and they are small and don't add alot to the bioload in cased you want to add something else.

    New 5.5g Tank Setup

The Catalina Waters SG is fine (I have found most people using synthetic seawater mix theirs to 1.025-1.026 for a reeftank), what I was getting at is if you let water evaporate too much the salinity could get too high. Thats why I mentioned an auto-topoff, there would be little evaporation...

    Some product Questions:

Cyclopeeze is a favorite food for corals and inverts, it is available in frozen and canned forms. I use several different liquid foods in my tank, mainly the Kent product line. I try to add a different food each time I feed the tank so I am giving it some diversity. I have seen the Purple up...

    Low light coral

Before you order any lights check around and see what kind of prices you can find, shopping around can save you a decent chunk of change. I would take a look at www.hellolights.com as well as the major e-tailers.

    "moon lighting"

:welcome to the board. Moonlighting is a neat feature but it is mainly there for us to have even more tank viewing time. There has been some speculation that lunar cycles may help with spawning events but in our tanks these are not necessary since most of the planktonic larvae ends up feeding...

    Low light coral

You could also keep some zoos but they would be the more brown ones, the more colorful ones would need higher lighting. You could also try a sun coral since they actually prefer low light.

    New 5.5g Tank Setup

1.027 is okay if you stay on top of evaporation, if you are manually topping off then you may want to bring it down a little to make sure it doesn't get too high. If you are going to have an auto topoff leave it as is to keep things easy.

    Pirate's Reef

It sounds like you may have found the problem (even though we have no idea what the yellow stuff is). it sounds like it is finally almost completely skimmed out of the tank. I see the yellow substance in the sand but would like to know what caused it in the first place. At least it looks like...

    some cool tanks

I haved both a NanoCube 6 and 12 DX and actually like my 10 AGA with the 96 watt powerquad the best so I have to agree with you. For what the cubes and other all in one tanks are they have their place but you do have almost limitless options when you start with a plain tank.

    Pirate's Reef

Check the tanks you built into the bottom of the stand and see if they are perfectly clear. I know both of us live in hot, humid climates and this time of the year we get some strange colored mildews and molds. I wouldn't think they could grow in the tank itself but in the make-up tanks where...

    some cool tanks

They sound like a gimmick tank to me. I don't think they would make a very good reef due to the front to back depth. Aquascaping would be a nightmare. I think that the Nanocubes and AquaPods would be a better choice than these, or you could start out with a plain tank and add equipment and...
