    Clown fish coloration

yes maroons are one of the neatest but also most aggressive and largest of the clowns. I had a pair a long time ago that use to spawn on a regular basis in my tank, but i had to get rid of them because even in the 125 they were so territorial that the female beat up everyone else in the tank...

    my 125

yea erik its grown too much - amature mistake i put too many corals too close together - it was alright in the nano cause they didn't grow as fast but since going in the 125 they have all hit a growth spurt since rearranging the tank i have gained a lot of real estate and plan on filling it...

    Jesse's 20L SPS tank

wow jesse that is awesome growth for 5 weeks, new frags often just sit there the first month - yours looks like it hit the ground running

    poorly coral

all softies leathers do this in general it is completely normal. if it is indeed a "tree coral" then after it becomes fully acclimated to your tank it should stay open all day but shrivel up only at night. leather types on the otherhand can go through sloughing periods that may last several days...

    yukkkk during water change

atlantic anemone probably means condylactus which is a problem. these things are sold cheap, often handled very poorly, and have a very poor survival rate in aquariums - i would not recommend anyone buy these even if they seem like a deal - and besides clowns don't normally host in them anyway...

    Jesse's 20L SPS tank

wow that first one is really nice - has a commensal crab too i see :) that is really cool cause you don't usually get them with captive frags - must be wild caught - looks kinda like my sarmentosa but not exact????? that "reddish" acro is neat too - i like the polyp color, they really stand out

    Empty Snail Shells

snails tend not to be very hardy depending on the variety. it is my belief that they are handeled very poorly from collection to market and they come in very stressed. whenever i add snails i expect to lose a few because of this. hermits can be a culprit though as could some unknown critter in...

    Brown button-like polyp?

the green buttons are kinda cool - especially under actinic lighting not high dollar in many peoples eyes but i like them

    Acrylic or Glass?

i've had a glass tank crack (jbj nanocube 12 in the bent seam) - it does happen but it is very rare with standard rectangular tanks. i prefer glass though many times over. and yes glass does scratch too, my 15 year old 125 is full of scratches - however if it were acrylic it would obviously be...

    Belligerent blenny

i once caught a hard to catch fish by placing a glass in the tank and placing food in it. if i remember right it took like a week for him to get use to eating in there and then i quickly covered the end with a net otherwise tear it down and get him out - may be a pain but otherwise you will...

maybe a sponge placed in the overflow box would help?????//

    Blennies, Gobies.....

true sand sifters ie sleeper gobies generally do not do well in smaller tanks - they need a huge amount of sand to sift through to feed. they also can as said move a lot of sand around and even bury corals that you place on the sand bed. yellow watchman are great additions and will only escavate...

    1) params salinity too low get it up to 1.024 2) lighting barely enough for healthy growing LPS 3) no most of those products are snake oil 4) yes if conditions are right 5) too many variables to tell advice 1) do a bunch of small water changes everyday for a week slowly getting the...

Yellow Damsel being bullied! Please help!

psuedochromis are very aggressive and you need to either remove it or the damsel. but be advised even though tomatoes can generally hold their own in a small tank like that it will be next in line. psuedochromis need a species tank if they are to be kept in a nano
