thanks jesse and erik :) wow ed your zoa forest always amazes me. all the frags seem to have spread some but yeah i see what you mean, they don't seem as happy as many of your others - the color change i imagine is due to them adjusting to your lighting. i suspect though that one day they will...

Won a BioCube 14 now where to start HELP

hmmm... this has gotten a bit off your original question - i will simplify it. 1) water; if your going to mix your own you will likely need an RO unit and good quality salt like reef crystals - but you may be able to buy premixed water from your local pet store. and yes you need a hydrometer...

    Glue question

it works - i too have done it but its a PITA and the success rate is lower. you get a much better bond if you can take the rock out and do it out of water. but if you have to do it under water - say your glueing to a base rock or the back glass: put a good portion of gel type super glue on the...

    Which fish first?

if you really want it gone, take the rock out poke something into the holes and try to chase it out, if that don't work do a freshwater dip and try again.

    Jesse's 20L SPS tank

its cool to see the polyps out all ready - but the tips do look a bit beat up from the bags - it may take a while before they start growing and color up again. i can't wait to see what your t-5's do for them the LA is actually their "blueberry tipped staghorn" acro A. kirstyae...

sorry just me thinking out loud: i've run tanks BB, SSB, DSB, with and without sump, with and without skimmers, with filtration and without any, with and without carbon, with most forms of lighting, from 10 gal - 125 gal, and they all worked and had pros and cons................ i'm a science...

    Adding Kalkwasser

if i'm understanding what your asking the simple answer is no kalk needs to be dripped on a daily basis. the chemistry behind this is deep but basically slowly dripped (at night preferable) allows the most Ca and best buffering if you add it directly to your water change water it will mess up...
