    green hair algae plague

Did anyone else notice the word GRAVEL being used in the OP? Is the substrate "gravel" or crushed coral or sand??? Very important determination. Gravel and crushed coral would become nitrate factories.

Well ya'll, for Xmas, I finally gotta camera. Yippee!!! With Macro... even better. My tank is a standard 10 gal. AGA. Aqua-tech 30-60 HOB modded to a sump/ fuge. Currently, my Sanders Piccollo skimmer is removed bc I need to replace the airstone. I am adding a Koralia Nano this weekend...

    why/ fuge & light?

Theory is that the oxygen output from the macro balances the output from the coralline etc in the display maintaining a constant pH regardless of which algae is getting the light at what time. However, after testing the theory in my 10gal. with the HOB fuge convert, no significant pH change was...

Best cure for algae = TIME?

Nice thing about fishing line is that you can get the kind that dissolves after awhile so you don't have to go on a recovery mission in the tank.

Setting up a 10 gal... lighting question

How would they be mounted??? No legs. So, I'd have to have a glass canopy or something to support it. I'm looking at topping the tank with just eggcrate and a light on legs. I'd go eggcrate less, but my cat fishes.
