Yep, but be careful as it *May* grow aggresively. (aka grow over other coral spots)

    Newbie Advice *Waves to everyone*

Woot Woot! :welcome to Nanotank! I like the all in ones for the clean lines and lack of visible equipment so you like the way the 28 looks then by all means go for it. I would make sure to get a surface skimming attachment (if it doesn't already have it) and upgrade the stock pump (keep...

    Cleanup Crew

Yes. Just do yourself a favor and read up on "whelks" before buying nassarius snails as some times whelks are sold as nassarius snails.

    Funkngroovy's 22g with sump.

15 liters = 3.96258079 US gallons (I used google, just type in what you want to conver "15 liters to gallons" and you get the math done for you) See, isn't that much easier.  Oh well! I hope the pico comes out. I'm thinking I may set up a pico at work, but I'm never at...

    Goby ????

I've always referred to them as dartfish in the goby family, but I'm not a marine biologist.

    Moonlights in a jbj nano?

nanocustoms and nanotuners have some great products and step by steps available. My tank came with them in but they were on the same ballast as the lights so no timer. (I have the stuff to separate the electrical, but just finished my college class so I think I actually may have time to do put...

I personally don't think I will ever buy another astrea. (they work well, I just have had it in my 90 gallon) They seem to taunt me by tipping over and not being able to right them selves. I am now a fan of the "super tonga" nassarius snails as they are great in the sand bed. I have...

    opinions wanted on protein skimmers

Make sure you have 1 inch between each baffle otherwise the water flow through the baffle system will be so fast that the bubbles will rocket through the baffling. (making it useless)

    JBJ 24 Deluxe set up

I don't have the personal experience with the pistols so no help there. Um newbie info: do regular water changes. Prevention is WAAAAY more important than curing (quarantine things....seriously....). Top off with fresh water, not more salt water. Have fun. Take lots of pictures...

I do run carbon, but that is just me. It's another debated topic, but since we do weekly or bi-weekly water changes I don't see any issue with it. And, you're welcome. Tons of useful posts in the forums. This is all just info I've collected. Others on this site have tons more info and...

    24 gal D-D Nano

:welcome to Nanotank! That is a BEAUTIFUL tank! Are those pictures of the rics modified? That is some fantastics color in them! Bah! You are linking the photos so I don't see any issue! Pictures are awesome! (says the man who can't find his camera....)

    JBJ 24 Deluxe set up

:welcome to Nanotank! The black sand will do fine. No real change, from the pictures I've seen your colors will *pop* more but detritus and suck will be more noticeable. So, no negatives. no substantial affect on lighting. Grain size is the only think you should pay attention to. This goes...

Wanting to start a 13gal (50 litre) nano...

My honest thoughts are this: Yes you would think sea water would work, but in my opinion it's not the *best*. Sea water will have everything your tank needs and then some (potentially bad things). Our tanks are quite small and I prefer to know the exact concentrations of trace minerals...

    opinions wanted on protein skimmers

Most skimmers have a break in period and micro-bubbles do calm down a bit after the break in period. I honestly don't know alot about the hang on backs. The one Reefman pointed out is a popular one. Sumps are really good for this as my baffles are 12 inches tall each and no bubbles make it...

Very cool. I personally like bristle worms as I treat them as clean up crew.

    Hitchhikers

I have "slugs" as well and they are herbivores and I just count them in my clean up crew. Other one no idea.

Filter feeder, beneficial to the tank. I don't have the proper name though.

Auto top off. It's a system that has a switch that detects when evaporation drops your water level in the display tank. If you can do a sump I would say do it. I LOVE them, but if that's not feasible then the auto top off will help a lot. http://www.aquahub.com/store/product26.html That...
