looking for ideas for my 24g aquapod

Nice Tank! I would put a Gorgonian in the back left corner as it looks like you have enough flow. You could probably even do a non photosynthetic as it looks like you have to feed the tank with that sun coral in it anyway. Also maybe some bright Florida Ricordeas on the sand bed. I can't think...

    my 14 gal biocube

GCK Welcome to Nanotank.com! That is a great starter tank, I had the Aquapod 12 gallon (really similar to what you have). Most people upgrade the fans that come stock so that it will run at lower temps. Not sure about back compartment setups. As for what types of coral, a biocube right out of...

    20 gallon tall lighting question

I would go 150w Halide, I think I read somewhere that it is closer to the light spectrum of natural sunlight :gcool You may have to have it higher off of the tank to avoid some heat issues or just run a fan on the tank like this one...

    hello nanotank.com

    1. The lights would work, but it wont give you much room to keep corals with higher light requirements. The watts per gallon rule, isn't exactly a science or proven to be correct. What really matters is your PAR readings. Which is hard to measure if you don't have the correct equipment. Here is...

    air stone

I believe the problem with airstones is using them in a reef because if the bubbles get into or on the corals it could damage them. In a fish only tank though out is okay.

    hello nanotank.com

Justblaze, Welcome to nanotank.com! 1. That will be fine to use for right now, the main issue you might have is light getting to the bottom of the tank for some corals. Coral placement will be something you will have to plan out accordingly in order to keep corals happy. The lighting is a...

    complete noob needs some help

Hi Alison and :welcome to Nanotank.com, and the addiction of Reefing! Tank, heater and filter is a good start. The lights really are dependent on what corals you want to keep. If you are just going to do fish then plain aquarium lighting will do fine, no need in the other things. I would...

    I'm Baaaaaaaaaack!!!

bought a small clean up crew today. the Usual Suspects: 5 - Cerith snails, 2 - Nassarius snails STILL waiting for my light! Apparently they got all of the other kinds in BUT the one I ordered. It will now be 1 month since the original light went out. :hwall:

    Return Plumbing

I would go with just a little bit larger than the piping on the mag 7. So if I remember correctly 3/4 would be fine. Just make sure the pump is not working faster than the overflow or you might need snorkeling gear!
