I think you could move it down a little to prop it up against the rock and it will grow onto that, otherwise if it leans over and touches the rock that way it will just grow from where it touches on the rock. Hope that makes sense.
Xenia is a very odd/finicky coral. It sometimes does this stuff on its own and can take days or weeks to go back to normal. It could be irritated due to something walking on it or picking at it. Have you moved it recently, or has it been in the same spot since you bought it?
That i-9 is a sweet light. As for sand, I'm all for sand, I just don't like the look of Bare bottom or minimal sand, too unrealistic for me. But again it is preference. Can't wait to see the pieces of rock you are going to choose.
hate to disappoint you, we just don't have the activity in here like it used to be. We need to get more people active here again, and I think they would probably start back up.
that is a nice light! Rare and expensive would be cool. With that light you could keep just about anything.
Check out this light: http://www.nanotuners.com/product_info.php?products_id=623&osCsid=5nf8vb1d3c6rvabk2ns4mj2t44
that is the light I have over my 5.5. Lots of people are using...
That is some nice work! and I think that is the smallest sump I have ever seen! Did you build the tank, sump and stand yourself? What are your stocking plans? and Welcome to nanotank.com!
