    Caulerpa taking over!

They need a lot more swimming room. Being in too small a tank will cause it a lot of stress. Tangs are prone to ich and hlle. So generally they will develop a bad case of one or the other or both and die. B

    Question

Drilled a hole through the top to drop an airline/airstone in the center of the riser tube to improve skimming action. Drilled another near the lid so that if the collection cup filled up it would drain out another airline tube into a jug. I use a carbon/filter pad and a few bio balls in it...

    Marine fleas?!?

I believe the ones that are carnivors are isopods, not amphipods. B

    Needing help with coral ID...

RC = Reefcentral The pics are still out of focus which makes it difficult to see the texture of the surface. The color and general shape is more obvious though. Are all the branches coming out of one central base? With it buried in the sandbed it's hard to tell if all the branches come...

    Marine fleas?!?

There aren't any cons. Other than perhaps you not liking the look of them. Pros are that they're great detrivores, and as small as they are they can get in nooks and crannies that larger critters can't get to, and lots of fish will eat them. That's about it. B

    computer fans....

Those are nice and clean looking. Pricey though. I bought 6 fans for my two canopies, two adapters, and the wiring to put them all together for just under $60. B

72 Oceanic Reef Ready Bow Front Evolution...

I've got 110w VHO, one 175w 20k MH, and a 96w 50/50 powerquad over the two tanks. I lose about a gallon a day to evap with the central AC set to 75 during the day and 70 at night. It just depends on how much space you have to work with under the stand. The trash can I'm using is taller and...

Calling All Reefers - Need Your Help!

Sorry, I missed the text at the top of the pics describing exactly what I was asking about. B

    Caulerpa taking over!

Yeah, that's a bad example. A 20L isn't large enough for a tang. Even a juvenile one. However lots of people with larger tanks do the same thing, pruning macro out of their refugiums for their tangs to eat. B

    Marine fleas?!?

Amphipods. I'd go ahead and kill the aiptasia as well. Once they start to multiply it becomes much more of a hassle. B

    Needing help with coral ID...

The pic makes it pretty difficult to compare to other images on the web. Perhaps, Oculina arbuscula, or Aplysina fulva. Although I don't really think it's either one of these. I'd try over on RC, maybe someone will have a better idea. B

72 Oceanic Reef Ready Bow Front Evolution...

I haven't changed anything. It's a fairly standard wet/dry sump. The first chamber is where the return water from the two tanks goes in through a 100 micron bag. I've got an aqua c urchin pro in this chamber as well. The water pours over the baffle onto the trickle plate, where I put some...
