    Back after a few years

If you haven't put water in the tank yet, I'd take it back and get a 30g oceanic cube instead. Lots of folks have been having problems with the 24g cubes cracking for no apparent reason. There are several threads about it over nano-reef.com. B

72 Oceanic Reef Ready Bow Front Evolution...

I tried to do a similar thing in my 55g where I'd leave an area in the center of the tank clear and have the rock slope up on either side. I found it was just too narrow of a tank to do it effectively. When I upgraded to the 75 I was much more successful, but I still have a bit less open...

    Caulerpa taking over!

Unfortunatel this is why most people don't keep macro algaes in their display tanks, unless it's a large tank and they have tangs that will keep it under control. Your best choices are gonna be to find someone with a larger tank with a fuge, and just trade them your calerpa rock for some bare...

These threads might have some helpful info...If it's not what you're looking for you can always PM/email Karen, and she'll be happy to give you some info. By the way, how'd you get banned from all the stores but one in your area? B http://marshreef.com/modules.php?name=F ...

    Deep Sand Bed...

All of my tanks have a 2-3in sandbed. I don't really feel the need to have anything much deeper than that. If you're happy with the way it looks, you should be fine. Oh yeah...pics, pics, pics! :-) B

What Chemicals Should I put In My Tank?

You shouldn't be adding anything you don't have a test kit for. Otherwise it's easy to get things out of balance. My work nano hasn't had anything added to it except food since I started it nearly a year ago. The weekly 1g water change has been enough to keep things healthy and thriving...

    How Much Is Art Worth?

While I wish you luck I've got a few friends that are professional photographers and artists, and I think even as 'art' they're simply priced too high. Art is much like any other business. Until you've made a name for yourself and are well known in the art world it's unlikely that you'll be...

    5.5 gallon tank

Not really. The 96w quad fixtures are 20". A standard 5.5g is 16"x8"x10". A 96w quad retro is 18.5", but even that'll hang over the sides quite a bit. B

    Copepods

They're a good sign. No a clown won't eat them. There's really no reason to remove them, unless you just don't like them for some reason. They're harmless, and decent detrivores. A six line wrasse will gobble them up. B

I need help trying to figure out new tank set up

If it were me, I'd go with Kris's suggestion. However if replacing everythin isn't an option, you can still make the tank viable, it's just gonna take some work. The largest problem with octagonal tanks is that they're difficult to light. Most of the cheap lights that put out enough...

    algae

A lot of people have major algae outbreaks after switching to oceanic salt from another brand. Just like lots of people seem to have bleaching issues with their SPS when switching to crystal seas bioassay. That may be it, or it may be the upgraded lights. Or most likely a combonation of...

    72 gallon bowfront reef ready...

Why? I think the first paragraph of the last post sums it up pretty well. Whenever possible I like to try to provide links to point out where my information/opinion is coming from, so folks don't think I'm just talking out of my @ss. Yesterday when I said I thought the 72bows had problems...

    72 gallon bowfront reef ready...

This really isn't meant to bash oceanic. Some day in the future I expect to be buying a couple of their big ones. Heck, my 75g and 40g, are both older, used, oceanic tanks. I don't know of any other company out there that gives you any warranty on the tanks. And hopefully I"m posting enough...

    70W MH retro/PC or actinic

Yep you'll need a UV shield. All DE MH bulbs need them. One of the LFS fried their display tank when one of the shields got broken while someone was replacing the bulb. The kid figured it was just a splash guard and didn't mention it cause the lights were nearly 20" over the tank. Next...
