Need a replacement PC ballast?? Perfect for nanocubes!! $3?!

That would work, just be careful and remember that there is mercury vapor in the lamp. I too was thinking about that, but I went the way I did so that I can fit 4 or 5 of these in a compact box. Jesse

Need a replacement PC ballast?? Perfect for nanocubes!! $3?!

The 42 watt screw-in will work on 40 watt PC's... Current USA makes a lamp that is called a Smartpaq, 40 watts. Its my personal favorite PC lamp.

Need a replacement PC ballast?? Perfect for nanocubes!! $3?!

So I am working on a little project right now involving a 12g nanocube. I will be running 3 or 4 24 watt PCs in the cube and was looking into ballast options. I stumbled onto a couple articles on another site that discussed using the ballasts out of the screw-in compact fluorescent lamps like...

    70w MH issues??? cutting on/off

Is there a thermal shut-off built into the ballast?? Maybe the ballast is getting too hot and is kicking itself off?? I cant say I have ever heard of that berfore but maybe this ballast is different. Jesse

    fission nano skimmer

They are crap. Check out the Sapphire Aquatics nanocube skimmer if it is for a JBJ nanocube. They also have them for the biocubes and other all-in-ones out there. They fit in the rear chambers and allow to still close the lid. I havent heard anything bad about them yet. Jesse

12 Gal Nano Cube Original Lighting?

I would get the deluxe... the original only has one 24 watt PC and that isnt enough for hardly anything to do well. go with the deluxe with the dual 24 watters and you can get some mushrooms, zoanthids, green star polyps, etc. HTH and :welcome to nanotank.com! Jesse

    29g Trogdor's Paradise

LOooks good. One thing though... bring the return pump for the closed loop up nearer to the tank. It will take a load off of the pump and get you more flow. Alot of people build a little platform or something for the pump to rest on right at the top of stand in the back. Keep us updated...
