That's the pricey way to do it... its about $50+ just for one of those bits. If you buy a tank that is reef-ready (ie some oceanics etc) they come drilled... its the aftermarket stuff they dont guarantee. If you reinforce the bulkhead area with an extra piece of glass, it is much less likey...

Most likely you will be looking to upgrade the lighting sooner or later. It is relatively easy to add another lamp or two... just depends on what corals you want to keep. Jesse

Well I cut the tissue with a sharp clean razor blade and then break through the LR with a chisel and hammer... works everytime. GSP are moody though and may not open up for a few days after this happens but it will be fine. ***DO THIS OUTSIDE THE TANK AND RINSE ALL NEW PIECES IN SOME WATER...

Yeah... if you are doing regular, WEEKLY water changes of about 30%-50%, you shouldnt need to dose. Jesse

Kalwasser is a form of Ca... the best IMO/IME. I use it but not in a reactor. A reactor shouldnt be necessary unless you are running an SPS tank or something like that... a tank that uses a lot of Ca. Jesse

I think you meant "shouldn't" right? lol WHat people dont seem to understand about PurpleUp is that it is just another form of Ca. If your Ca levels are where they should be, there is no reason to dose this stuff. BTW, there is Iodine in there too which is not a good thing to overdose...

sounds like they have ich. also, what are the spec's of your tank? Temp, pH, nitrates/nitrites, ammonia, SG, etc. Are you running any carbon or other chemical media? How long has the tank been up and running? Shrooms, or corallimorphs in general, are pretty noxious but I dont think...

Hmm... flatworm... considered bad. Relatively easy to treat though... how many are there? Is it like a infestation or just a couple here and there? If you have an infestation, you should seek some form of treatment. 1) you can continually manually remove then with a syhon using ailine...
