Six line wrasse TAIL ROT!!! PLzzzz Help

have you tried reefcentral.com they have some great experts on fish diseases and can probably do a hell of a job at suggesting the best method. I'm not putting anyone down here, it's just that they have experts in the field and this seems pretty serious to try 'ideas' on how to correct it...

    actinic and MH

Don't listen to your LFS. They are trying to get you to upgrade your lights. Actinic lights count just as much as your 'Daylight' bulbs do. Yes they are in the blue spectrum but daylight also contains the blue spectrum...and just as much red and green. We add an additional blue spectrum to...

    WOULD THIS WORK?

1 snail per gallon is a good rule to follow. (what can i say...i love snails) A few Nassarius, Astraea and some Ceriths will compliment your turbos. You will want to watch how big your clowns get. 2 might be pushing it in a 19g but the anemone will need to wait quite a while before being...

    Blennies, Gobies.....

DWG need about 60g tanks IMO. They were what i was referring to in my original post, apparently I wasn't paying attention. I had one in a 20g that tore it to shreds. One day i would find all of the sand on one side...then the next it was on the other side. Be prepared if you get the DWG. I...

OLD DEAD and DRIED Live Rock...?

my first reaction would be to cure it like you would any rock. add it to a bucket with a power head and maybe a heater. let it sit for a week and test your water. I would watch it for a few weeks to see if you get an ammonia spike...if not then i say add it to the tank. otherwise let it...

    led moonlight idea

nice idea. on the ones that i have built myself I just purchase the wide angle lens on the LED but they usually still end up light your before picture. I might have to make some new moonlights with some PVC and give it a try.

    Fluorescent bulbs and line voltage

I will admit defeat. I'm not that knowledgeable with fluorescent bulbs in different countries but if the ballasts output the same voltage and current then I don't see why you couldn't run them on the same bulbs...anyway I've derailed this thread far enough, hopefully someone with the right...

    Blennies, Gobies.....

Be prepared to have your sand all moved to one side of the tank and a bare spot where the sand once was. These guys can add some good enjoyment to watching your tank but can wreak havoc on a deep sand bed. If your sand bed isn't used for filtering then I don't see any harm in having one or two.

    10g Tank (any ideas??)

Using ocean water should be fine, as long as it's not contaminated. You will still want to be sure that your tank runs through a cycle. The cycle establishes the bacteria in the system. While your water will have a lot of bacteria, your rocks and substrate won't. (or it may die off during...

    Acrylic or Glass?

It only takes the smallest grain of sand to get between your algae scrub pad and the acrylic to get a scratch. I just like the clarity of glass over acrylic

    Fluorescent bulbs and line voltage

Correct me if I'm wrong (which i probably am) but if you use a 230v ballast on a 120v bulb then you will be overdriving your bulb and the life of the bulb will drop. If you try the 120v on a 230v bulb then it probably won't get enough voltage for it to fire properly and won't start up. I did a...
